Edmund Benjamin Wahl

Obituary (courtesey of Betty Hartley):
Edmund B. Wahl, 88, 163 Andover Road, Woods-
field, died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, in the Bay Shores
Nursing Care Center in Bay City, Michigan. He was born
at Miltonsburg, May 23, 1907, the son of the late Frederick
Joseph Wahl and Appolonia Miller Wahl.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Syl-
vester Catholic Church, Woodsfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his first wife Mary Louise Miller Wahl; two sisters, Mary
Wahl and Gertrude Biedenbach; three brothers, Joseph,
Roman, and Ralph Wahl.
Surviving are his wife, Inez Dance Clemins Wahl; a
son Robert Joseph Wahl of Lawrenceville, GA, a stepdaughter,
Katherine Gallaher of Kawkawlin, MI, a granddaughter.
Friends will be received at Watters Funeral Home,
Woodsfield, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Sylvester Cath-
olic Church, Woodsfield, with the Rev. Chester Pabin officiating.
Burial follows in St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield. Vigil services
will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Gertrude Inez Dance

Gertrude Inez Clemens Wahl, 90, Kawkawlin,
Michigan, formerly of Woodsfield, died at the Bay Medical
Care Facility, Essexville, Mich. She was born August 25,
1909 in Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Wesley
Dance and Irene Gilbert Dance.
She was a former employee of the K-V Store in
Woodsfield, a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church,
and was previously a founding member of the First Baptist
Church of Woodsfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her first husband, James H. Clemens, her second husband,
Edmund B. Wahl, two sons, James G. Clemens, and Gail D.
Clemens; three brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edison F. (Katherine I.)
Gallaher of Kawkawlin; a stepson, Robert Wahl of Atlanta,
GA; two sisters, Katherine Senter of Elizabethton, TN and
Helen Tate of Bayneberry, TN; nine grandchildren, 18 great
grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received today 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bauer-
Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be
held at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Monsignor Thomas Petronek
officiating. Burial follows in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
Wake services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral
home.


Arthur L. Miller

Obituary:
WOODSFIELD - Arthur L. Miller, 87, of Miller Road died Wednesday (Sept. 10, 2003)
at the Morgantown (W.Va.) Trauma Center as a result of a farming accident. He was born
Nov. 1, 1915, in Monroe County to Leonard Miller and Anna Hughes Miller. He was a
member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Miltonsburg and was a retired carpenter
of Local 186 of Steubenville, Ohio. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, pitching horseshoes and farming. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Anna Gallagher Miller; five sons, David H.
Miller at home, Gregory Arthur Miller and his friend, Barb Garey, of Woodsfield, Mark
Leon Miller of Woodsfield, Alan Christopher Miller and his wife, Patti, of Stoutsville, Ohio,
and Brett Joseph Miller and his wife, Wilda, of Woodsfield; five daughters, Patricia Rush and
her husband, Paul, of Woodsfield, Linda Kahrig and her husband, Meredith, of Woodsfield,
Wanda Monahan and her husband, James, of Barnesville, Marilyn Ruth Wells of Wooster, and
Kimberly Johnston and her husband, Jim, of Powell, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Helen)
Thonen of Mount Pleasant, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eloise Archer; and three brothers, Paul,
Eugene and Henry Miller. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Miltonsburg with Father David Gaydosik officiating. Burial is in the church
cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral
Home at 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where a vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. today.

Obituary of Faye Harkins Miller:from the Marietta [OH] Times, dated Saturday, May 24, 2003 ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Faye L. Miller, 75, of 117 Pine Knoll
Terrace, formerly of Woodsfield, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday
(May 22, 2003) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation
Center in Cambridge. She was born March 25, 1928, in
Blairsville, Ga., to Van Lee and Nina Pearl Reese Harkins.
She was a homemaker and a Catholic by faith. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Alt and her
husband, Gregory, of Wake Forest, N.C., Karen Warner and
her husband, Dennis, of Kimbolton, Barbara Ackerman and
her husband, John, of Woodsfield and Sharon Eikleberry
and her husband, Roy "Skip," of St. Clairsville; one son,
Daniel Miller and his wife, Kim, of Hagerstown, Md.; one
sister, Charlene Gallagher of Canton; eight grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F.
Miller, on Aug. 3, 1982; her parents; an infant brother, Hobart
Harkins; and one sister, Evelyn Harkins. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltons-
burg, with Father David Gaydosik as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery
in Miltonsburg. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sun-
day at Watters Funeral Home in Woodsfield. Vigil services
are at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.


Helen Amelia Miller

The following note appeared on page 8 of The Zanesville Signal, 8 Mar 1945:

Mrs. Helen Thonen, Malaga, entertained the Jerusalem and Malaga War Wives
recently at her home. The evening was spent planning for the Red Cross social to be held at the school building Saturday evening. The service men’s kits have been
completed and returned to the Red Cross. The next meeting of the group will be at
the home of Mildred Fraley at Jerusalem on March 17.

Emma C. Doudna,86, of 410 S. Broadway St., Barnesville, died Thursday
in Barnesville Hospital. She was born December 5, 1900 at Temperanceville,
a daughter of the late Peter and Sarah Jefferis Burkhart.
She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Catholic Women's Club
and Altar and Rosary Society, all of Barnesville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Gallagher; two
sons; two daughters; a brother and three sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence Doudna; two sons,Donald Gallagher of
Canton, Larry Gallagher of Junction City; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Ruth)
Miller of Woodsfield, Mrs. Willis (Rosalie) Carpenter of Beallsville; a brother,
Joseph Burkhart of Temperanceville; 31 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren;
five great great grandchildren.
Friends received at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home, Barnesville, 2 to 9 p.m.
today, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assump-
tion Catholic Church, with Rev. Charles Mascolino the celebrant. Burial in
Assumption Cemetery. Rosary at 7:30 p.m. today.
