Lester Norris

Obituary: Canton (OH) Repository - 29 Sept 2003 Lester Norris, age 74, of Canton, OH, passed away on Saturday, September
27, 2003 at Aultman Hospital. Born in Woodsfield, OH, to the late Clarence and
Lorena (Baker) Norris.
Lester worked for the Timken Company as a truck driver for 30 years before
his retirement in 1989. Prior to his work at Timken, Lester served in the U.S. Army
where he reached the rank of Private 1st Class and was a World War II Veteran. He
was a member of the VFW and the McKinley Eagles 2370 and was also an avid
fisherman.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Walton Norris; and
two sisters, Ruth Huffman and Gennevive Price.
Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Charlotte (McCray) Norris; son,
Michael Norris; daughters, Karen (Tony) Bowers and Rhonda (Michael) Shaeffer;
step-children, David (Linda) Riffle and Kaye (Chuck) Shackle; sister, Eva Jean
(Donald) Brown; and grandsons, Michael and Gary Shaeffer; there are also six step -
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews surviving.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home
with Pastor Craig Ott and Pastor Doug Simpson officiating. Calling hours will be on
Monday (today) from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial dona-

daughter of the late Clarence and Lorena (Baker)
Norris. Mrs. Huffman was a member of First Baptist Church
of Woodsfield. She was a charter member of the Eagles
Lodge and the Pythian Sisters Lodge, both of Woodsfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
A. Huffman, on November 16, 1994; a sister, Genevieve
Price; and a brother, Walton Norris. She leaves two sons,
Ron (Billie Jean) Huffman and Wayne (Karen) Huffman, both
of Woodsfield; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Beverly) Marmie
of Barnesville, and Mrs. Bill (Velma) Guess of Columbus; a
brother, Lester Norris of Canton; a sister, Eva Jean Brown
of Woodsfield; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bauer-Turner
Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 2 p.m. Sun-
day with Pastor Travis Smalley officiating. Burial will be in
Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.
