The parents and older children were born in Ohio. Children born in 1889 and after were natives of Pennsylvania.

Mary Francesca Haren

The 1900 census states that Mary Burkhart was 57 years old, and that she was born in Ohio in March 1843. This seems unlikely, in view of the fact that the youngest child in the household was 9 months old. The 1910 census states that Mary was 54, a year older than her husband. Mary and John had been married for 17 years at the time of the 1900 census.

The 1900 and 1910 census also indicate that Mary had given birth to 7 children, of whom 5 were still living. This is contradicted by the fact that in 1900 there were six children in the household from ages 9 months to 15 years.
