Murl O. Starr

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Murl O. Burkhart, 84, 34501 Walter Ridge Road, Woodsfield, died Wednesday,
May 10, 1995, at the home of her daughter in Barnesville. She was born near Quaker
City, June 27, 1910, a daughter of the late Walter and Laura Goodhart Starr. She was
a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Miltonsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Settie Carpenter;
a brother, Ralph Starr; and a granddaughter, Sharon Markovich.
Surviving are her husband, Otto G. Burkhart, Sr. of the home; five daughters, Mrs.
Don (Carol) Hunter of Barnesville, Mrs. Carlos (Doris) Headley of Beallsville, Mrs.
John (Patricia) Sharrock of Kirkland, Kay Robb of Barnesville, and Charlotte Morris of
Woodsfield; one son, Otto Burkhart, Jr. of Woodsfield; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grand-
children and two great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home,37501 SR78 West, Woodsfield,
Ohio from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.,
Saturday, May 13, 1995, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, with the
Rev. Chester Pabin as the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic
Cemetery, Miltonsburg. Vigil services will be Friday at 7:30 p.m., in the funeral home.

Paul Anthony Brooks

Paul A. Brooks, 68, Barber Ridge Road, Woodsfield, died Monday in Barnesville
Hospital. He was born January 1, 1920 in Monroe County, a son of the late Leo and
Katherine Weisend Brooks.
He was a retired employee of the Hercules Engines Inc., Canton, a member of St.
Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield,and a veteran of WW II.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Brooks; two brothers, Roman of Silver Springs, Md.,
and Frank of Dayton; a sister, Marie Bott of Woodsfield; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, 2 to 9 p.m.
Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in the St. Sylvester
Catholic Church, with the Rev. George Adams officiating. Military graveside services will
follow in St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield. Rosary devotions will be said at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday, in the funeral home.
