Lawrence Joseph Weisend

SUMMERFIELD - Lawrence Joseph Weisend, 76, of 30361 Township Road
55, of Lewisville died at 1:10 a.m. today (June 21, 1994) at his home. He was born
August 14, 1917, near Lewisville, son of the late John and Barbara Hanel Weisend.
He was a retired construction worker, a member of Labors Union Local 639 of Marietta
and St. Joseph’s, a Catholic Church, near Lewisville. He was a U. S. Army veteran of
World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4721, Caldwell, and American
Legion Post 415 Summerfield.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella and Euella Weised. Mr. Weisend leaves
his wife, Helen Carpenter Weisend, whom he married October 17, 1953.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brubach-Walters Funeral Home,
202 Main St., Summerfield. vigil services will be observed at 8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass
will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Msgr. George Adams
as Celebrant. Military graveside services will be conducted by Caldwell VFW Post 4721 and
Summerfield American Legion Post 475.


Helen Carpenter

Obituary:
WOODSFIELD- Helen D. Weisend, 77, of Township
Road 636, Lewisville, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at her
home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1928, near Summerfield, a
daughter of the late of the late Elijah D. and Pauline Opal
Carpenter. She was a homemaker and attended Calais
Church at Calais. Surviving are several cousins and many
friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Lawrence J. Weisend.
Calling hours will begin at 11 a.m. with services at
1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Watters Funeral Home,
37501 Ohio 78 West, Woodsfield, with Pastor Matt Zurowski
officiating. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery

Elmer A. Rausch

Retired Publisher and co-owner of Monroe County Beacon
Wednesday, March 10, 1993, The Times Leader
Elmer Rausch, 82, 400 East Marietta St., Woodsfield, died Monday evening at his
home. He was born December 26, 1910, in Woodsfield, a son of the late Clem J. and
Mary A.Weisend Rausch. He was retired publisher and co-owner of the Monroe County
Beacon. Elmer retired in 1977 as publisher, and co-owner of the Monroe County Beacon
and was the chairman of the board of directors of Citizens National Bank, Woodsfield. He
was a member of the Monroe County Republican Executive Committee and a member of
the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda E. Rausch.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Froehlich Rausch; two daughters Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Conner
of Woodsfield and Mrs. Jack (Rita) Spiers of Pickerington; two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Friends will be received 3:30-9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Thursday at St. Sylvester Catholic
Church. Burial follows in St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery, Woodsfield. Vigil services
will be at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Sylvester
School.


Clara Elizabeth Froehlich

Clara Elizabeth Rausch, age 94, of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 20, 1912, Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward Froehlich and Lillian Chambers Froehlich. She was a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield. She was valedictorian of the Barnesville High School Class of 1930. Preceding her marriage she was an elementary school teacher at Trinity Catholic School on Wheeling Island. She and her husband, Elmer A. Rausch with her sister-in-law, Hilda Rausch published the Monroe County Beacon for over 30 years. In later years she continued to proof read for the new owners until December of 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Rausch in 1993; sister-in-law, Hilda Rausch; two brothers, Bernard and Leo Froehlich; one infant sister, Bernice Froehlich. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Paul) Conner, Woodsfield, Ohio; Rita (Jack) Spiers, Pickerington, Ohio; one granddaughter, Cynthia Conner, Gahanna, Ohio; two grandsons, Michael (Bobbie) Spiers, Delaware, Ohio; Scott (Heidi) Spiers, Powell, Ohio; two great-grand- sons, Alex and Will Spiers; two nieces, Jackie Gant, Newark, Ohio; Sister Mary- anne Froehlich, Manitowoc, Wisconsin; one nephew, Msgr. Mark Froehlich, Lansing, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m., with Vigil Services at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 11 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2007, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Sylvester Church or the Barnesville High School Alumni Association.

Obituary:
Everett J. Pierce, 59, of Donners (sic) Grove, Ill., a native of Belmont, died
unexpectedly at 2 a.m. Thursday (Aug 12). He was born in Belmont, a son of
Charles and Tina Pierce.
Surviving are his widow, Grace Gallagher Pierce; two sons, James and David
of the home; a daughter, Linda Novello of Donners Grove; a brother, Carroll of
Brunswick; his step-father, Max Fortney of Belmont; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Campbell-Plumley Funeral Home in Barnesville where the
Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today. Requiem mass will be sung at Church
of the Assumption in Barnesville with Rev. Fr. John J. Reardon officiating. Burial
will be in the church cemetery.
