Jay Wells

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Jay Wells, 65, Pleasant City, formerly of Malaga, died Sunday, January 28, 1996
at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center following an apparent heart attack. He
was born June 3, 1930 in Malaga, son of Elijah J. and Hazel Burkhart Wells of Malaga.
A retired businessman, he was an avid horseman and exhibitor of horses and ponies. He
was a member of Senecaville Presbyterian Church and several horse organizations.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Laurel Gregory Wells; one son,
Steve Wells of Alledonia, one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Julie) Myers of Malaga; one brother,
Carl Wells of Malaga; five granchildren a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are being held today, January 31 at 2 PM in Oaklawn Cemetery,
Woodsfield, with Rev. Arby Conn officiating. McGaughy-Black Funeral Homes is in charge
of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, American Heart Associ-
ation or the American Saddlehorse Association, Kentucky Horsepark, Lexington, Kentucky.

Evelyn Jean Nichols

Obituary:
CALDWELL -- Evelyn Jean Archer, 56, of Caldwell, died Wednesday morning, Jan.
15, 2003, in Columbus. She was born Nov. 2, 1946 at Sharon, Ohio, a daughter of Juanita
N. King Nichols of Sharon and the late Clarence Raymond Nichols who died 11/28/1992.
She was a 1964 graduate of Caldwell High School and was employed since 1974 by GMN
Tri County CAC, Inc., where she served as Program Director for the Teens for Tomorrow,
Project Partnership and Project Trust Programs, in Noble and Monroe Counties. She was a
longtime member of the Olive Green United Methodist Church. Surviving are her mother, Juanita N. King Nichols of Sharon; a daughter, Brenda K. (Bruce)
Okey of Caldwell; three sisters, Judy (Duane) Weisend of Summerfield, Nancy Juanita (James)
Secrest of Hoskinsville and Rama (Dave) Reese of Canton; two grandchildren, Brandon and
Breanna Okey of Caldwell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 13, 2003) at McVay-
Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Dave
Kascmarski officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, Ohio.
