Arthur H. Burkhart

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Arthur H. Burkhart, 54, Quaker City, died Monday in University Hospital, Columbus,
Ohio. He was born July 26, 1932 in Monroe County, a son of Herman and Delores Burkhart.
He was an employe of Quinn Development Company, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Temperanceville.
He was preceded in death by a brother. Surviving are his wife, Melba Day Burkhart two
stepsons, Steven Gallagher of Batesville, and Kenneth Gallagher of Byesville; two stepdaughters,
Joy Gallagher of Cambridge, and Lisa Hannum of Carrolltown, PA; five brothers, Charles and
William, both of Temperanceville; Richard, Herman A. and Gene all of Quaker City; a sister,
Bertha Hossman of Malaga; five step grandchildren.
Friends received at the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home, Barnesville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM
Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday in St. Mary's
Catholic Church with the Rev. John Reardon officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Temperanceville. Rosary devotions will be said at 7:30 PM Wednesday in the
funeral home.


Marvin Hossman

Obituary:
WOODSFIELD - Marvin C. Hossman, 46, of Malaga, a coal miner,
died Tuesday evening in Bellaire City Hospital after a brief illness. He
was born May 25, 1927 in Malaga, a son of Wesley Hossman of Malaga
and the late Clara Burkhart Hossman. Mr. Hossman was a member of St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church of Miltonsburg.
Survivors include, in addition to his father; his widow, Bertha Burkhart
Hossman; two sons, Charles and Gerald, both of the home, four daughters,
Mrs. Carol Ann Crooks of Malaga, Patricia, Linda and Karen Sue, all of the
home; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Krone of Lewisville, Mrs. Donald
Eileen Miller of Malaga and Mrs. Lowell (Judy) Thomas of Beallsville.
A Mass of Participation will be solemnized at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s
Church with Rev. Donald K. Nuss officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Michener Funeral Home where
Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. today.


Charles Edward Burkhart

Charles Edward Burkhart, 70, of Temperanceville, Ohio, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born February 1, 1935 in Monroe County, a son of the late Herman and Delores Burkhart.
Charles retired from the Quinn Coal Co. of St. Clairsville. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Temperanceville, served in the US Army and was a member of the Batesville American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lee Burkhart; brothers, Robert, Arthur, William, and Richard Burkhart; and his grandparents, Alex and Lucy Burkhart.
Surviving are his wife, Neva Stephens Burkhart; daughters, Debbie (Darrell) Leach of Summerfield, Ohio, Patricia Dawn Riemenschneider of Temperanceville; son, Charles Michael (Shannon) Burkhart of Temperanceville; grandchildren, Derrick (Erin) Leach, Misty and Codey Leach, Wade and Jenna Riemenschneider, Tyler, Dylan, and Makayla Burkhart; a sister Bertha Hossman of Malaga, Ohio; brothers, Eugene and Herman Burkhart, both of Quaker City, Ohio.
Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street., Barnesville. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Temperanceville, with Father Virgil Reischman officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Temperanceville.


Sherry Lee Burkhart

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Sherry Lee Burkhart 18, of Route 1, Barnesville, was dead on arrival at
Barnesville Hospital Sunday night, July 22, 1979, following a vehicular accident
on Rt 379 in Somerset Township. She was born in Barnesville, July 8, 1961, a
daughter of Charles and Neva Stephens Burkhart. She was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Temperanceville, and was a member of the Class of 1979 of
Barnesville High School.
Friends were received at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home, Tuesday, and the
Rosary was said there Tuesday evening at 8. The Mass of Christian Burial was held
in St. Mary's Church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. Father George
Goodbout officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Darrell (Debra) Leach of
Summerfield, and Miss Patricia Burkhart of the home; a brother, Charles Michael Burk-
hart, at home; and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stephens, of Route 1.


Eugene Michael. Burkhart

Obituary:
Eugene M. (Gene) Burkhart, 64, of Temperanceville,
Ohio, died Wednesday, June 7, at Ohio Valley Medical
Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was born March
15, 1942, in Monroe County, Ohio, a son of the late Her-
man and Delores Burkhart.
Gene was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of
Temeranceville, Ohio, and was a retired Department
Manager with Riesbecks of St. Clairsville, Ohio, he
served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death
by brothers: Charles Bob, Art, Bill, and Dick Burkhart.
Surviving are his wife Deborah Straight Burkhart; two
daughters Kelley Burkhart of Temperanceville, Ohio,
and Stacey (Sam Wells) Burkhart of Barnesville; a sister
Bertha Hossman of Malaga, Ohio; and a brother Herman
Jr. (Kay) Burkhart of Temperanceville.
Friends will be received Friday 4 to 9 p.m., Kelly - Kemp-
Braido Funeral Home, 702 East Main St., Barnesville, Ohio.
Mass of Christian burial Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's
Catholic Church Temperanceville, Ohio, with Father David
Cornett officiating, burial in Ebenezer Cemetrery, Bethesda,
Ohio.
