Notes

Raymond George Burkhart

Raymond Burkhart may have had more than one wife; the entry in the Ohio online death certificate index states that he was married at the time of his death.

Sebastian Burkhart

It has not been proven that these two men are the same person:
Sebastian Burkhart, husband of Elizabeth Burkhardt, and
Sebastian Burkhart, son of John Thomas Burkhart and Mary Ann Mercer.

Researcher Charlie Burkhart states that the husband of Elizabeth Burkhardt was the son of Thomas John Burkhart and Anna Maria Zwick.

In 1880, Sebastian (33) and Elizabeth (28) Burkhart lived in Summit Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with them were their daughters Josephine I. (5) and Lucetta E. (1). Sebastian is the only man on that page of the census for whom no occupation is listed. Elizabeth's occupation was "keeping house." Everyone in the household was a native of Ohio except Elizabeth, who was from Germany.

At the time of the 1900 census, Sebastian Burkhart (54 - Aug 1845) and his wife Elizabeth (50 - Mar 1850) owned a mortgaged farm in Summit Twp. Also in the children were their children Lucetta E. (20 - Jan 1880), Mary (15 - Apr 1885), Clemmens L. (18 - May 1882), and Leo C. (10 - Aug 1889). The three youngest children attended school. Of the seven children that Elizabeth gave birth to, five were still living in 1900.

According to the 1900 census, Elizabeth came to America in 1852.

Leo Frederick Burkhart

Leo Fred Burkhart died at home at 254 Powhatan Ave., Columbus, Ohio. The informant for his death vertificate was Mrs. Bertha Baird (presumably his daughter).

John H. Burkhart

Further reserah needs to be done to clarify data regarding John H. Burkhart. Date of birth from both Betty Hartley and the census indicate that John was born in Ohio approximately two years before his father came to America, and three years before his parents' marriage.
