Wedding announcement:

Cooper-Johnson Stephanie Ann Cooper and Shawn Kelly Johnson were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marietta. Father Paul Hrezo and Monsignor Donal O'Carroll officiated for the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Cecilia Cooper of Waterford and the late H. Ronald Cooper. She is the granddaughter of Catherine Arnold, the late George Arnold, Harry and Jane Cooper, and the late Alberta Cooper. The bridegroom is the son of Russell Johnson and John and Linda Carter, all of Caldwell. He is the grandson of the late Harold and Dorothy Schott, Helen Johnson and the late Dwight Johnson. The bride wore a sleeveless, high-waisted gown of white matte satin with princess seams, a lace trimmed chapel length train, and a bodice with a scoop neckline trimmed in pearls and enhanced with lace, pearls and sequins. Her headpiece was a silver studded tiara with a two-layer elbow length veil of bridal illusion trimmed with satin cording. She also wore elbow length white gloves. The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white roses, red roses, baby's breath and greenery. As she left the wedding ceremony, she put on a fur-trimmed white matte satin hooded cape. Matrons of honor were Nikki Strauss, the bride's cousin; and Jenny Bolton. Bridesmaids were Amy Soul, Jamie Gilliand, Caroline Dawes, Brooke Bankes, Janis Starkey and Alisha Perdue. They wore apple red two-piece dresses with matching elbow length gloves and carried clutch bouquets of four red roses, baby's breath and greenery. Flower girls were Belle Huffman and Emmy Strauss, cousins of the bride. They wore apple red satin dresses with layers of white tulle and wore silver studded tiaras in their hair. Best man was Kent Garrett. Groomsmen were J.R. Brooks; Eli Antons; and Kris Cooper, the bride's brother. Ringbearers were Jordan and Wesley Satterfield. The bride was escorted by Eric Cooper, her oldest brother. Guests were registered by Tina Cooper and programs were given out by Kim Cooper, both sisters-in-law of the bride. Sister Cathy Arnold, the bride's godmother, and Hugh and Kelly Arnold, godfather and aunt of the bride, gave readings. General intercessions were given by Amy Baker. Musical selections were provided by John Ontko, organist; Jennifer Simmons, vocalist; and David Turrill, trumpet. The wedding party traveled by trolley to the Marietta Shrine Club, where a dinner and dance were held. The bride is a 1996 graduate of Waterford High School and a 2000 graduate of Marietta College. She is employed by The Marietta Times as an advertising consultant. The bridegroom is a 1988 graduate of Caldwell High School and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is employed as a firefighter for the Marietta Fire Department. After a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas, the couple are residing in Marietta
