Melvin A. Walker, age 61 of Canton, passed away
Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in Aultman Hospital following
a courageous five month battle with cancer. He was born
February 2, 1944 in Wheeling, WV, to the late Melvin E.
and Evelyn V. (Thomas) Walker.
He retired from the Hoover Company in January of 2004
after 30 years of service. Melvin loved golfing, mowing, going
to Mountaineer, watching wrestling with his grandchildren
and his beloved pet, “Sissy”. He proudly served his country in
the United States Navy. A man of pride, dedication and love,

happiness overpowered the pain he felt.

step grandchildren, Dennis Elliott Jr., Brandon Elliott, Kristyn
Elliott, Jordan Elliott and Joshua Elliott; brother, Donnie Walker;
sister -in-law, Nancy Walker and nephew, Donnie Walker Jr. A
special thanks to Dave and Julie Bernabei and Steven Carnes
for their concern and devotion during his difficult time - it is very
much appreciated.
In keeping with Melvin’s wishes, there will be no funeral
services. Arrangements are entrusted to the Paquelet-Falk
Funeral Home of Louisville. Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Society (1-800-227-2345).
