Noah Burkhart

In 1910, Noah Burkhart (20) was a boarder in the home of Gregor Kavalaris at 612 South Main St. in Akron, Summit county, Ohio. Noah was employed as a cigar maker in a stogie factory.

In 1920, Noah Burkhart (30), his wife Hallie (30) and son Eugene (6) rented part of a home at 218 Main (?) St. in Wheeling, WV. Eugene attended school. Noah was employed as a stogie maker in a factory. The family did not live far from Noah's mother, Kate.


Frank Burkhart

In 1910, Ernest Burkhart (26) and his brother Frank (20) were boarders in the home of Elizabeth Davis at 710 Communion (?) St. in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. Both men were employed in a rubber shop.

It has not been proven that the following man is the son of Kate Weber and Nicholas Burkhart, but four other family members moved to Wheeling, and this Frank Burkhart lived in the same neighborhood as his mother, two brothers, and sister.

At the time of the 1920 census, Frank Burkhart (28), his wife Agnes (29) and daughter Sarah (3) lived in a rented house at 35 East First St. in Wheeling, WV. Frank occupation was "laborer."


Harry P. Kohut Jr.

From the Zanesville Times Recorder, 5 Dec 1947:
BERNE -- Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kohut of Caldwell, Rt. 6 spent Monday night with the latter's mother, Bernice Crum.


Sarah Elizabeth Crum

CALDWELL -- Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" McGee, 88, of Senecaville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday (April 18, 2009) at her home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Marietta, daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice Forshey Crum.
She was a 1939 graduate of Elk Rural High School in Harriettsville. During World War II, she was employed at the Hoover Defense Plant in Zanesville, and she was a retired employee of First National Bank in Caldwell.
She was a faithful member of Calais Baptist Church since 1974. She was a talented and skilled seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Kohut, in 1964; and one brother, Clyde Crum, in 1997.
She leaves her husband, Charles "Fred" McGee, whom she married March 25, 1970; a daughter, Kathye (Phil) Kohut Holstein of Cumberland; two sisters, Virginia Crum Watson of Caldwell and Margaret Crum Warner of Summerfield; three grandchildren, Paula (Todd) Holstein Carpenter, Trixy (Charles) Holstein Carpenter and Phillip Holstein; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Xyler and Chance Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (Monday) at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell.
The funeral service will be observed at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calais Baptist Church in Calais. Burial will follow at Kennonsburg Cemetery.

Wilmer Floyd Watson

Wilmer F. Watson's obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 12 Feb 1970:

SENECAVILLE - Wilmer F. Watson, 53, of Senecaville Route 1 died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday (Feb 11) at home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was born July 27, 1916 in Noble County, a son of Harrison and Angie Mendenhall Watson.
Mr. Watson was a member of the Summerfield American Legion Post and the DAV at Cambridge.
Surviving are his mother; his widow, Virginia Crum Watson; three sons, Billy Joe, Dwaine and Alan, all of the home; three daughters, Charlene of the home, Mrs. Myrle Carpenter of Cambridge and Mrs. Judy King of Senecaville Route 1; a brother, Oral of Sarahsville Route 1. Two sons, Marvin and Wilmer Jr. are deceased.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. at McVay Funeral home in Caldwell with Rev. Myron Guiler officiating. Burial will be in Mount Ephraim Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


Wilmer Junior Watson

Details of the tragic death of Junior Watson were published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 21 Jul 1968
GUERNSEY COUNTY MAN IS KILLED
SENECAVILLE - Wilmer Junior Watson, 23, of Senecaville Route 1, was fatally injured Friday evening (July 19) in an auto accident on County road 40-A while enroute to Kennonsburg for rehearsal for his sister’s wedding.
.The accident occurred near Terrace Heights, three miles east of Cambridge. The Ohio Highway Patrol said Watson’s car went left of center on a curve, slid off the road sideways, and crashed into a tree. He was pinned in the car for a short time. The Patrol said the car was demolished.
Watson was taken to the Guernsey Memorial Hospital in Cambridge then transferred to University Hospital in Columbus where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Death was believed to have been caused by head injuries.
Young Watson was to have been best man at the Saturday night wedding of his sister, Judy Jean Watson at the Kennonsburg Methodist Church. The wedding has been postponed.
He was born in Noble County on July 16, 1945, a son of Wilmer and Virginia Crum Watson. He was a 1962 graduate of Sarahsville High School, served with the Ohio National Guard for three years and at his death was an employee of the National Cash Register Company of Cambridge.
Surviving are his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Gary Carpenter of Cambridge, Miss Judy Jean Watson of Cambridge, and Miss Bernice Charlene Watson of the home; four brothers, William Joe, serving with the U.S. Army, Marvin Ray, Harrison Dwaine and Alan Arthur, all of the home.
The body was taken to McVay Funeral Home at Caldwell where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Monday with Rev. Mrs. Milford Carey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Ephraim Cemetery.
