Roman R. Haren

At the time of the 1930 census, Roman R. Haren (46) rented a portion of the home at 415 Long St., Cambridge, Guernsey Co., Ohio for $15 a month. Living with him were his wife, Mary B. (33), and sons Paul J. (10), Clyde A. (8), Clarence C. (6), and Richard A. (3 yrs 1 mo). The three oldest boys attended school. Roman was employed as a gang foreman for the railroad. Everyone in the househhold was a native of Ohio. According to the census, Roman's parents were from Germany, and Mary's were natives of Switzerland.

Roman Haren’s obituary was published in the Zanesville Signal on 11 May 1949:
ROMAN HAREN DIES SUDDENLY
Roman Haren, 66, retired Baltimore & Ohio railroad foreman, died suddenly yesterday afternoon while working in the garden at his Sonora home. Although in failing health for the past year, death was unexpected.
Born May 20, 1883 at Barnesville, he was the son of Theobald and Philomena Haren. He had made his home at Sonora for the past 11 years.
Mr. Haren was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and la life member of the Barnesville aerie of Eagles.
Surviving are his widow, Mary; four sons, Paul of Sonora, Clarence of Moxahala, and Clyde and Richard of the home; two brothers, Louis of Canton and Alex of Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Leighinger of Canton, and six grandchildren.
The body will be returned to the residence tonight from the Hillis funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Friday morning at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olives.
