Michael Letzelter

Michael Letzelter and his brother, Phillip, were blacksmiths in Woodsfield, Monroe Co., OH in the 1880s.

At the time of the 1880 census, Michael Latzeller (37) lived in Woodsfield with his wife Magdalena (34) and their children Charles J. (10), Fannie (8), Annie (5), Mary (3) and Josephine (8 mos.). The two oldest children attended school. Michael's occupation was listed as wagonmaker. His brother Carl, a blacksmith, lived next door. Michael and Magdalena were born in Bavaria. The children were all natives of Ohio.


Mary Magdelena Burkhardt

In 1910, 62 year old widow Magdelena Letzelter owned a home on Oak Lawn Avenue in Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio. Other members of the household were her unmarried daughter Mary M. (31), daughter Laura Caton (24) and her husband John Caton (27), daughter-in-law Mollie E. Letzelter (38) and her children Cyral J. (3) and Michael B. (1 yr 6 mos). Mollie's husband (Michael) is not living in the houselhold.


Mary Magdalena Letzelter

Mary Letzelter never married. At the time of the 1920 census, Mary M. Letzelter (42) lived in the household of her married sister, Laura Caton, in Wheeling, WV. Mary did not work outside the home.


James Glen Rickeart

The following wedding announcement for James Rickeart and Theresa Marie Nauer appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on September 14, 1968:
RICKEART AND NAUER CEREMONY
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nauer of Nashport Route 1 announce the marriage of their daughter, Theresa Marie, to James Rickeart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rickeart of Frazeysburg Route 1.
The ceremony was Friday, Sept. 6, in Reedsville Methodist Church in Reedsville, N.C.
Mrs. Rickeart is a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and is a member of St. Mary's Church at Mattingly Settlement. She is employed by the Burger Chef.
Mr. Rickeart is a senior at Tri-Valley High School and is a member of Frazeysburg United Methodist


Theresa Marie Nauer

ANNOUNCE BIRTH Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nauer of 140 Galligher street are announcing the birth of a six-pound daughter Monday afternoon in good Samaritan hospital. The baby has been named Theresa Marie. Mrs. Nauer is the former Mary Louise fuller of Zanesville. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fuller of Wheeling avenue and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nauer of Lewisville.

Patrick Shane Rickeart

Patrick Shane Rickeart's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on August 30, 1977:
PATRICK SHANE RICKEART
Patrick Shane Rickeart, five-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James G. and Theresa Nauer Rickeart of Frazeysburg Rt 1 died at 4:00 a.m. Monday at Children's Hospital in Columbus. He was born August 23 at Bethesda Hospital and died from internal complications.
Also surviving are a brother John of the home, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nauer of Nashport Rt 1, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rickeart of Frazeysburg Rt. 1, a great-grandmother, Mrs. Blanche Nauer of Lewisville, several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at Bauman and Sons Funeral Home in Frazeysburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Frazeysburg Cemetery.


Esther Carol Nauer

DAUGHTER NAMED The daughter born in good Samaritan hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nauer of 951 Pine street has been named Esther Carol Nauer. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fuller of Wheeling avenue and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nauer of Lewisville. The maternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Norman of Downard avenue.

The following wedding announcement for Carmen Wheeler and Esther Carol Nauer appeared in the Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on August 22, 1971:

The wedding of Miss Esther Carol Nauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nauer of Nashport route 1, and Sgt. Carmen Keith Wheeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Wheeler of Nashport Rout 1 was solemnized at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's catholic Church at Dresden.
Rev. Richard Engle, pastor, and Rev. Charles Imhoff, pastor of Nashport United Methodist Church, officiated.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a floor length gown of chiffon over taffeta, designed with a softly gathered skirt accented with a bow at the waistline. A Chantilly lace bolero formed the bodice. Her headpiece of petals and pearls held her elbow length veil in place and she carried a colonial arrangement of daisies tied with white satin ribbon.
The bride's only attendant was her sister, Miss Dorothy Nauer. She wore mint green brocade with standup collar and short puffed sleeves. A velvet ribbon accented the empire waistline. Her flowers were yellow pompons tied with mint green streamers.
Craig Wheeler, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Mark Nauer, the bride's brother, and Marvin Wheeler, brother of the bridegroom.
A reception followed in the social room of Nashport UM Church. Assistants were Mrs. Darrell Woods and Mrs. John Paliewicz.
The newlyweds are spending a week in Michigan and Canada.
Mrs. Wheeler is a 1969 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and is a graduate of 3-B School of Beauty in Newark. She is employed at McClintock's Beauty Salon in Dresden and is a member of St. Ann's church.
Sgt. Wheeler, a 1967 graduate of Roseville High School, has served two years with the Army. He has been stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan, and leaves in September for a year in Korea.

Frank A. Korn

Frank A. Korn of 45 Grant was listed in the 1891-92 Zanesville City Directory. He worked in a cotton factory.

On 12 Sep 1918, 44 year old Frank A. Korn of 167 Greenwood, Zanesville, Ohio, registered for the US military draft. Frank's nearest relative was Florentine Korn of the same address. Frank's date of birth was July 28, 1874. He indicated that he was a waiter in Manhattan Rest. at N. 4th St. in Zanesville. Frank was described as being short, of medium build, with brown eyes and black hair.

In 1930, Frank A. Korn (55) and his wife Florentine (57) owned a home worth $7500 at 999 Greenwood Ave. in Zanesville. Living with them were their children, Francis (24), Virginia (19) and George (17). Frank was a janitor in a school house.
