Former Kent resident Judy (Wagner) Nipper, 50, of Marietta, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000.

Born May 6, 1949 in Kent, she was the daughter of Kenneth F. and Placeda (Hohman) Wagner. She attended St. Patrick Elementary School and Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent and was a graduate of Kent State University. She moved to Georgia in 1981.

Mrs. Nipper was a second grade teacher at Walls Elementary School in Kent and received the Martha Holden Jennings award for outstanding teacher. While living in Kent, she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She was a teacher at Argyle Elementary School in Marietta, Ga., from 1985 until 1988 and Bells Ferry Elementary from 1989 to 1998. She was honored as "Teacher of the Year" in 1995-1996. She was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel; sons, Eric G. Zaytzeff and Jeremy C. Nipper, both of Marietta; and sisters, Beverly Rutkus of Kent and Diane Chopko of Warren. Her parents died previously.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
