James V. Alig

Obituary:
ALIG, James V., 73, of St. Albans, W.Va., departed this life February 18, 2005 following a short illness. He was born February 4, 1932 in Wheeling, W.Va., the son of the late Valentine and Helen (Poulton) Alig. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of St. Albans; a U.S. Navy Korean veteran; retired Sales Engineer for Dow Chemical; a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight); and a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic War Veterans. He was a 25 year resident of St. Albans.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sally M. Alig; three daughters, Erin Wieczorkowski and husband, Rich, of Moundsville, Susan Ness and husband, Gavin, of Port Hedland, Aus., and Kelly Nagel and husband, Paul, of Maineville, Ohio; two sons, James R. Alig and his wife, Monique, of Danville, Va., and Jay M. Alig of St. Albans; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Stacey Wieczorkowski, Alicia Wieczorkowski and fiance, Eddie Swierkos, Brandon and Kaitlin Scarberry, Morgan and Chloe Nagel; a great-granddaughter, Lexi Swierkos; and a brother, Richard Alig of Wauseon, Ohio.
A Christian Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2005 with Celebrant Father Patrick M. McDonough at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 22, 2005 with Celebrant Father Patrick McDonough officiating at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at a later date in the St. Patrick's Cemetery at Teays Valley.

Mary Virginia Paulus

KUNTZ, Mary Virginia "Ginny," 91 of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, March 4, 2005 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wheeling on August 10, 1913, Mary was the daughter of the late George and Harriet Tighe Paulus. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove.
Loving mother, gentle and strong spirit, she was guardian of her growing family. With her dedicated husband, Len, by her side, they began the legacy of sending their light out into the world.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Kuntz; son, Donald Kuntz, daughter-in-law, (Donald's wife) Suzanne Kuntz; son-in-law, James V. Alig; granddaughter, Robin Sue Marple; grandson, Timothy Brown; four brothers, Howard, Edgar, Raymond, and Jay Paulus; sister, Helen Burkhart.
Surviving are five sons, John and Jay Kuntz of Wheeling, Robert Kuntz and his wife, Debbie, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Joe Kuntz and his wife, Connie, Wheeling, Terry Kuntz and his wife, Mary, of Wheeling; three daughters, Sally Alig of St. Albans, W.Va., Sue Marple and her husband, John, of Wheeling, Darlene Bryniarski and her husband, Edward, of Lansing, Ohio; two brothers, John Paulus of Wheeling, Bob Paulus and his wife, Julie, of Ohio; sister, Mildred Pockl of Wheeling, thirty one grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove on Monday, March 7, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Virgil service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove with the Reverend James LaCrosse, S.M. as celebrant. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, Wheeling.
