garet Nauer, Frank Scott, Ellis Brown, Martha Calland, Sallie
Carpenter, Martha Carpenter, Delia Kuhn, C. R. Calland, Celia
Smithberger, Mrs. Fred Warner and children, Ruth and Dickey,
of Berne.

Marcella Kuhn Warner was a resident of Caldwell, Noble County, Ohio at the time of her death.

Andrew Warner

In 1880, Andrew Warner (30) lived in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his wife Emily A. (24) and their children Albert (5), Mary (2), and Charles (2 months). Also living with the family was a 19 year old farm hand named John Finley. Andrew's farm is listed next to his brother John Warner in the census.

In 1900, 50 year old farmer Andrew Warner lived on the farm that he owned in Stock Twp.with his 44 year old wife Emily, and nine of their children: Albert (24), Charles (20), Matilda (17), Frank (15), Margaret (12), Genevieve (10), Clara (7), Bede (5), and Flora (2). Missing from the household are 22 year old daughter Mary Elenora (who was married in 1896) and Andrew (b. 1886), who is presumed to have died. Andrew Warner was born in Ohio to German-born parents. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Henry Crock and Sylvester Yeagle.

Emily Rebecca Thompson

According to the census, Emily Thompson Warner gave birth to 11 children prior to 1900. Ten of these children were still living at the time of the census. The missing child, Andrew (born in 1886) is presumed to have died. In "St. Mary's -- 150 Years -- Fulda OH" author Delores Snider lists a twelfth child for this family, Howard, presumably born after 1900.

In 1930, Emily R. Warner (73) lived on the farm of her unmarried son, Frank, in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

From the Zanesville Signal (page 5), 11 Jan 1932

Andrew Warner

Andrew Warner is not listed with his parents and siblings in the 1900 or 1910 census. The census states that his mother gave birth to 11 children, 10 of whom were still living in 1900. The other ten children are accounted for, so it is presumed that Andrew Warner died prior to the 1900 census.

Howard Warner

The 1900 census states that Emily Warner had given birth to 11 children. Howard is not among them. All 11 other children can be accounted for in church records. This suggests that Howard was born after the 1900 census.

In June 1860, 23 year old Hessian-born farmer John Hupp lived in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his 20 year old pregnant wife. No children lived in the household.

At the time of the 1870 census, John Hupp (36) was still living in Enoch Twp. with his pregnant wife Barbara (30) and children Francis (19), Barbara (7), Thomas (5) and John (2). Francis' age is believed to be a mistake... he was 9 at the time of the census, not 19. Only Francis attended school. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to James Cain and Lewis Dellar.

In 1880, John G. Hupp (46) lived on a farm in Enoch Twp. with his pregnant wife Barbara (40) and children Frank (19), Barbara (17), Thomas (15), Conrad (11), Henry (7), Mary (4), and Elizabeth (2). Frank, Barbara, Thomas, and Henry attended school. The census states that John was born in Bavaria. (This conflicts with the 1860 census, which indicates that he was born in Hesse. The census taker in 1880 shows that John's wife's parents were born in Hesse, so he appears to know the difference between Hesse and Bavaria.) Neighboring farms in the census were those of Lawrence Dellar and H. Dyre (?).

On 26 Apr 1883, the Caldwell Citizens' Press reported:
Pleasy Parks sold his land to John G. Hupp for $1,530.

From the 19 Jun 1884 Caldwell Citizens' Press:
G. C. Ehlerman took in over 15,000 pounds of will last Friday and Saturday.
He also bought himself a fine span of three year old mares, one from John L.
Noll for $140 and one from John G. Hupp for $150.

In 1900, John G. Hupp lived on a farm that he owned in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with three of his unmarried children: Conrad (28), Henry (27), and Tilda (19). John Hupp's farm was located in the census between the farms of his children, Frank Hupp and Elizabeth Hupp Estadt. According to the census, John Hupp came to America in 1837, when he was about two years old. The column on the census labled "Naturalization" looks like a "No" (not the "Na" that most other immigrants have). John Hupp spoke English, but could not read or write.

Barbara Elizabeth Lori

Records conflict on date of death: 14 Oct 1889 (Snider) vs. 17 Oct 1889 (Noble County Probate Court). The census entries for at least six of Barbara's children indicate that her birthplace was West Virginia.

Henry Hupp

In 1900, 18 year old Henry Hupp lived and worked with his sister and brother on his widowed father's farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio. John was able to read and write.
