Richard Charles Rorick

Obituary of Richart Rorick:

Richard C. Rorick, age 73, of Canton, surrounded by loved ones, passed away peacefully on Thursday at the home of his son, Rick, moments after receiving Holly Communion.
He was born in Canton, was the son of the late Homer and Grace (Bhuler) Rorick; and retired as owner operator of Rorick’s Dirt Bike Accessories Shop located at 2505 Harrisburg Rd. NE, in Canton. Dick was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider and better known by close friends as Popsie or Big Daddy.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Grimwood.
He is survived by his wife, Norma J. (Fisher) Rorick of the home; sons, Richard L. (Mercedes “Merz”) Rorick of Canton, David M. Rorick of Canton; grandchildren: Bret and Elsie; and his loving puppies, Maggie, Daisy and George Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Msgr. John C. Finnigan as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. There will be a Parish Prayer service at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
Thanks to all who cared for Dick during his illness, Dr. Charles Smith and staff, Dr. Raza Khan and the Aultman Oncology Staff, the sixth floor Oncology Nurses, and Aultman Hospice. Very special thanks to Nona, Margaret, Chaplin Paul, Mary, Marie and volunteer Paul. All their compassion and loving care helped our family very much during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.

Francis Rorick's obituary appeared in the Canton Repository on July 23, 2006 Francis Walter Rorick age 94 of North Canton passed away Friday in the Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Canton, Ohio on October 29, 1911 he was the son of the late, Edward and Antoinette Rorick.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and was awarded the following medals; Purple Heart Medal, Asiatic Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He was a retired barber having owned and operated the Rorick Barber Shop, located in Downtown Canton, retiring after 60 years of barbering. He was a member of the VFW and as his hobbies he enjoyed building and gardening.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Norm Rorick and a sister, Lucille Weber.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth F. Rorick, to whom he was married on August 23, 1938. There are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W., North Canton with Rev. Fr. Edward Beneleit officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
