Cecil F. Offenberger
LOWELL - Cecil F. Offenberger, 68, of 1266 Cider Mill Road, Lowell, died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1936, in Waterford, a son of Francis and Louise Huck Offenberger. He was an instrument technician-electrician at Elkem Metals. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy at Lowell and Russell Chadwick American Legion Post 389 at Beverly.
On Aug. 24, 1966, he married Leona Kathleen Mackie Offenberger, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Terry Offenberger and wife, Rene, of Springboro, Ohio, Ted Offenberger and wife, Ginnie, of Waterford, and Todd Offenberger of Lowell; two daughters, Tammy Dyar and husband, Mike, of Lowell and Tawnya Deeter and husband, Jon, of Weisbaden, Germany; 11 grandchildren, Madison and Erin Offenberger, Shelby Hannah, Zeb, Bailey, and Brier Offenberger, Elizabeth, Mikaela and Gracyn Dyar, and David Deeter; one brother, Joe Offenberger and wife, Anna; five sisters, Mary Pitt, Camilla Heiss and husband, George, Anna Jean Huck and husband, Bill, Marilyn Pawlaczyk and husband, Flory, and Harriet Henrie and husband, Jim.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Hurd Pitt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 8) at Our Lady of Mercy, Lowell, with Father Tim Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery with military services at the grave. A rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home, Beverly, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
