Susan “Sue” A. Newlon, 62, of Lowell passed away at her home at 9:18 pm on Friday, October 16, 2009. She was born on January 19, 1947, in Lowell, a daughter of Carl J. Lang, Sr. and Ruth Thieman Lang. Sue was a homemaker and a motor route carrier for Marietta Times and a home health worker. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at Lowell. On June 14, 1964, she married John H. Newlon who survives with 1 son and 2 daughters: Gene “Bird” (Melissa) Newlon and their children Samantha, Megan, Karley and great grandchildren Terrance and Daisy; Melissa (Alan) Treadway of Marietta and their children Timothy, Thomas, Jessica; Penny (Darren) Whealdon of Lowell and their children Keith, Nikki, Tessi and great grandson Jaiden. Also surviving are 1 sister and 3 brothers: Marian Thrasher of Marietta, Carl Lang, Jr. of Waterford, Cecil Lang of Mineral Wells, and Ronald Lang of Lowell. She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson Zachery. Memorial services will be held on Thursday (October 22nd) at 7:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 pm on Thursday. Joyce Ann Sorg

Joyce Ann Nichols age 71, of Obetz, Ohio ,formerly of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Saturday evening (June 6, 2009) at the Winchester Place Hospice, Canal Winchester, Ohio. She was born March 20th, 1938 in Noble County, Ohio a daughter of the late Nick and Pauline Spiker Sorg. Joyce was a member of the Obetz United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from American Hospital Supply Company after nearly forty years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo, euchre, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert L. Nichols whom she married July 6, 1953 and Step-Father Albert Wheeler. Surviving is One Son Robert E. and wife Debbie Nichols of Pataskala, OH; Four Step-Grandchildren; One Sister Marie Lynn (Tom) Hall and her faithful dog Fawn. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday Morning June 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Pickenpaugh Officiating.
