Thomas Edgar Warner

Thomas E. Warner, age 68. Beloved son of the late Edgar and Helen (nee Wehner) Warner; brother of the late Robert Warner; cousin of Gerald Kirchner and Jean Eber; and many relatives and friends located throughout the country. Lawrence E. Mallett

In 1930, Lawrence E. Mallett (37) owned a home worth $3000 in the village of Berne, in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio. Liiving with him were his wife Jennie E. (40) sons Everett F. (17) and L. Donald (11), daughter Dorothy M. Archer (15) and her husband Clemence J. (24). Donald and Dorothy attended school. Lawrence was a retail store merchant. His son Everett worked as a store clerk, and son-in-law Clem was a farmer. The Malletts were the only family on their page of the census to own a radio set.

Edward A. Springate

On June 5, 1917, 25 year old Edward A. Springate filled out a draft registration card in Cleveland, Ohio. He provided his date and place of birth and indicated that he was a chauffer for Independent Carting Co. in Cleveland. His address was 2157 N. 73 Cleveland Ohio. He stated that he was responsible for the support of his wife and child. The draft card says that he was of medium height and slender build, with brown eyes, black hair, and no distinguishing marks.

At the time of the 1920 census, Edward (28) and Clara (27) Springate rented part of a two family home at 2137 73rd Street in Cleveland, Ohio, where they lived with their son Fred C. (3 yrs 1 mo.). According to the census, everyone in the household was born in Ohio, as were their parents. Edward was employed as a chauffer for an express truck company.

In 1930, Edward (38) and Clara (37) Springate owned a home worth $5000 at 3912 Beuchner Ave. in Cleveland, Ohio. Living with them were their two sons, Frederick (13) and Daniel (6), both of whom attended school. Everyone in the home was a native of Ohio. Edward's mother was also from Ohio, but his father was born in England. Edward worked as a truck driver for a building supply company. The Springate family owned a radio set. According to the census, the couple were 24 and 23 years old, respectively, when they were first married. This puts their marriage at about 1915, which conflicts with the 8 Aug 1921 date in church records at St. Mary's in Fulda (cited by Snider).

Edward may have remarried after Clara's death. According the the Ohio online death certificate index at ancestry.com, Edward Springate was married at the time of his death.

Frederick Springate's social security number was issued in Ohio prior to 1951.


Albert Henry Warner

At the time of the 1900 census, 24 year old Albert lived with his parents and younger siblings on the family farm in Stock Twp., Noble Co., OH. In 1910, thirty-four year old Albert Warner lived in Noble County, Ohio with his 30 year old wife and six children.

In 1910, 34 year old farmer Albert H. Warner lived with his wife of 9 years, Ida B. (30) on a farm they owned in Stock Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them were their children Harry J. (8), Marie B. (5), Ernest F. (4), Paul C. (2), Pauline R. (2) and WilbertA. (3 mos.). Harry attended school. All members of the household were born in Ohio.

On September 12, 1918, self employed farmer Albert Henry Warner (42, dob: November 13, 1876) of Summerfield, Ohio registered for the military draft. According to his draft registrtion card, his nearest relative was Ida Warner, summerfield, Ohio. His physical description is given as short, stout, brown eyes, brown hair.

In 1920, 44 year old farmer Albert H. Warner lived with his wife Ida B. (40) on a farm they owned in Stock Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them were their children Henry (17), Marie (15), Earnest (13), Paul (12), Pauline (12), Wilbert (10), Raphael (8), Edward (6), and Leona (4 yrs 9 mos). Earnest, Paul, Pauline and Raphael attended school. All members of thge household were born in Ohio.


Ida Blandina Blake

In 1900, 21 year old Ida Blake lived with her parents and younger siblings on the family farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

In 1930, widow Ida B. Warner (50) owned a farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio. Living with her were her children H. J. (28), E. F. (24), Paul C. (22), W. F. (20), R. H. (20), Edward F. (17), and Leona T. (14). Only Leona attended school. The family did not own a radio. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Henry Kinnen and Francis A. Crock.

Sunday guests at the home of Mrs. Ida Warner were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Colahan;
Mrs. Lafe Hoy and children Delores Ann, Donna Jean, and David Lee, and Raphael
Warner of Zanesville; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Warner and children, Theresa and
Melvin, of Cannelville.

Obituary:
Mrs. Ida Warner, 89, of Frame Nursing Home at 807 Findley avenue, a former
Noble County resident, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday (June 27) at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born Sept. 24, 1879 in Noble County, a daughter of Joseph and Catherine
Fisher Blake. Mrs. Warner was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic church at Carlisle
and its Catholic Women’s Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Leona) Neff of 1307 Central avenue, Mrs.
Evert (Pauline) Calahan of 532 Luck avenue; and Mrs. Lafe (Marie ) Hoy) of 793 West-
bourne avenue; four sons, Ernest Warner of Dayton, Raphael Warner of Columbus, Edward
Warner of Westwood drive, and Paul Warner of Caldwell Route 1; 15 grandchildren and 28
great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Finley, and Misses Matilda, Sophia, and
Gertrude Blake, all of Canton; and a brother, Albert Blake of Louisville. Her husband,
Albert Warner, died in 1928. Two sons, Wilbert and Harry, a sister and a brother are
deceased.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brubach Funeral
Home in Summerfield. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s
Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Rudolph Wargo officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.


Ernest F. Warner

In 1930, 24 year old E. F. Warner lived and worked on the family farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his widowed mother and siblings.

Obituary:
Ernest F. Warner, 70, of Dayton, former Noble County resident, died at 7:45
a.m. Tuesday [22 Jun 1976] in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton
where he had been a patient many years. Born Aug. 29, 1905 in Noble County,
he was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Leona Neff of 1307 Central avenue, Mrs. Pauline
Calihan of 532 Luck avenue, and Mrs. Marie Hoy of 793 Westbourne avenue; two
brothers, Edward F. Warner of 1352 North Westwood drive, and Paul Warner of
Caldwell Route 1; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Michael’s Catholic
Church in Carlisle. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military services by
Summerfield American Legion and Caldwell Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Wilbert A. Warner

In 1930, 20 year old W. F. Warner lived and worked on the family farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his widowed mother and siblings.


John Adam Warner

In 1900, 21 year old John Warner lived and worked on his parents' farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County Ohio.

At the time of the 1930 census, Adam Warner (53) and his wife Kathryn T. (48) owned a farm in Stock Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them was their son, Paul G. (7). Paul attended school that year. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to William Kullman and Edward Craft Jr.

Adam Warner's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on Oct 21, 1957 EX-FARMER SUMMONED CALDWELL, O., Oct 20 -- Adam Warner, 81, a life resident
of Noble county and former farmer, died at 6 o'clock Saturday
morning at the family home near here, a victim of a heart
attack. He was born at Fulda June 4, 1876, a son of Joseph and
Elizabeth Crum and was a member of St. Philomena Catholic
church here. In addition to his widow, Katherine, of the home, he is sur-
vived a son, Paul, of canton; two grandchildren; a brother,
Simon, of Dayton and two sisters, Mrs. Felix Schott of Fulda
and Mrs Philip Hohman of this community. The body will remain at the Estadt funeral home until ser-
vices are held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Philomena church.
Rev. Fr. Stephen J. Peckalla will be in charge and burial is to
be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

WARNER SERVICE
CALDWELL - Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. today at St. Stephen’s Catholic
Church here by Rev. Fr. Stephen Pekalla for Mrs. Catherine Warner, 81, of Caldwell.
Mrs. Warner died Friday afternoon [21 Aug 1964] at Mark Rest Center in McConnels-
ville after a long illness.
Mrs. Warner was born Sept. 12, 1882, in Monroe County, a daughter of George and
Elizabeth Hunkler Burkhart. She was the widow of Adam Warner and was a member of
St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Surviving are a son, Paul, of Caldwell, two sisters, Mrs.
Paul Damsel of Barnesville, and Mrs. David McFadden of Pittsburgh, and two grand-
children.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery with arrangements by Estadt Funeral Home
of Caldwell.


Philip Hohman

When the 1900 census was taken, twenty year old Philip Hohman lived and worked on his parents' farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

In 1910, 29 year old farmer Philip Hohma(n) lived with his wife Rosa (22) on a farm they owned in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. They had been married for 1 year. Living with them was their son Walter J. (7 mos) and Philip's father, Joseph (91). Philip, Rosa and Walter were born in Ohio, Joseph was born in Germany.

At the time of the 1920 census, Philip Hohma(n) (39) and his wife Rosa (32) owned a farm they in Enoch Twp. where they lived with their children Helen (9), Harold (7), Bernard (6) and Marcella (3). Helen and Harold attended school (The census form also indicates that Rosa went to school however, this may have been an error on the part of the census taker and it may have been Bernard who attended school.)

In 1930, Philip and Rosa Hohman's Enoch Twp. farm was valued at $600. Living with them were their children Helen (19), Harold (17), Bernard (16), Marcella (13), Clara (9), Martha (5), and Elmer (1 yr 5 mos). Based on census data, they had been married for 22 years. Bernard, Marcella and Clara attended school. All members of the household were born in Ohio as were Rosa parents and Philip's mother. Philip's father was born in Germany. The family did not own a radio.

The following article appeared in the Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on November 8, 1932: PARTY AT HOHMAN HOME A party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hohman,
Sunday evening. Games, music and dancing were the chief
diversions of the evening. those present were Misses Esther,
Alice and Lillian Rupple, Luella Heppner, Sophia Estadt, Hilda
Michael, Marcella Hohman, Messrs. Carl Rupple, Andrew
Mehler, Elmer Miller, Gilbert and Seranus Estadt, Hubert
Schafer, Andrew Crum, Bill Hill, Walter Schockling, Clyde
Warner, Harold Hill, earl and Clyde Schell and Bernard
Hohman.


Philip Hohman's obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 08 Apr 1966:
CALDWELL-- Philip Hohman, 85, of Caldwell died following
a brief illness at 9 p.m. Wednesday (April 5) at Mount Carmel
Hospital, Columbus. Born May 17 1880, in Noble County, he
was the son of Joseph and Mary Schaub Hohman. His wife,
Rose, died in 1964. A retired farmer, he was a member of Caldwell
St. Stephen Catholic Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen Schlbarger (sic) of
Columbus, Mrs. Marcella Mulbay of Columbus, and Mrs. Martha
Ortlieb of Columbus; three sons, Harold of Brownsville, Pa.,
Bernard of West Mifflin, Pa., and Elmer of Caldwell Route 4; 24
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Estadt Funeral Home here where friends
may call. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Requiem
mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen Church
with Rev. Fr. S. J. Pekalla officiating. Burial will be in Mount
Olivet Cemetery.


Rose Elizabeth Warner

Obituary:
CALDWELL - Mrs. Rose Elizabeth Hohman, 77, of Railroad street died
unexpectedly at 9 a.m. Thursday [11 Jun 1964] at her home. She was born May
15, 1887, in Noble County, a daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Crum Warner.
Surviving are her husband, Philip; three sons, Harold of Elizabeth, Pa., Bernard
of Drausburg, Pa., and Elmer of near Caldwell; three daughters, Mrs. Helen
Echelbacker; Mrs. Marcella Malbary, and Mrs. Martha Ortlieb, all of Columbus;
a brother, Simon Warner, of Chillicothe; and a sister, Mrs. Sophie Schott of Caldwell.
One child is deceased.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with
Rev. Fr. S. J. Pekella officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery here.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Estadt Funeral Home where friends may
call.

Andrew Elijah Archer

At the time of the 1920 census, Andrew Archer (31) lived with his wife Minnie (28) on a farm they owned in Stock Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them were their children Wilma (3 yrs 6 mos), Herman (2 yrs 3 mos), and Alverna (2 mos). All members of the household as well as Andrew's and Minnie's parents were born in Ohio. Adjacent farms were owned by W. M. and Anna Archer and Michael and Ollie Archer Crum. The relationships between Andrew and W.M. Archer and Ollie Archer Crum is not know at this time.

In 1930, A. E. Archer (41) owned a farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his wife Minnie E. (38) and children Wilma E. (14), Herman M. (12), Alverna M. (10), Wilford A. (8), and Mary M. (5). All of the children attended school except Mary. The Archers did not own a radio set. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Andrew's brother Edward, and to John W. Archer. The relationship between Andrew Archer and John W. Archer is not known.

Andrew Archer's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on August 1, 1970. SUMMERFIELD -- Andrew E. Archer, 82, of Canton, a
former resident of the Summerfield area, died at 5 a.m.
Friday (July 31) at the Jane Francis Nursing Home at
Alliance. Mr. Archer was born April 15, 1888, in Noble County,
a son of Charles and Matilda Wilt Archer. He was a retired
employe (sic) of the Automatic Steel Products Company
at Canton. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Everly of
Navarre, Mrs. Clyde (Alverna) Schwallie of Canton, Mrs.
Harold (Mary) Spences of Louisville and Mrs. James
(Louella) Hanlon of Canton; two sons, Herman Archer
of Summerfield Route 1 and Wilfred of Louisville; two
brothers, Earl and Clemence Archer, both of Summer-
field Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Ida Dimmerling of Caldwell
Route 1; 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
His wife, the former Philomena warner died in 1940 and
a brother Cain, died recently. Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St.
Mary's Catholic Church at Fulda with Rev. Fr. Walter Hines
officiating. burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was taken to Brubach funeral Home here
where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.


Philomena E. Warner

Obituary:
RITES AT FULDA FOR MRS. MINNIE ARCHER
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Archer, 48, of near
Summerfield, will be held at 9 o’clock Monday morning at St.
Mary's Catholic church at Fulda. Burial will be in the church
cemetery. Mrs. Archer died Friday [17 May 1940] afternoon
following a month’s illness of complications.
She spent most of her life in the Summerfield vicinity
and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church. Surviving
are her husband, Andrew Archer, four children; three brothers,
and two sisters.
The body was removed to the Brubach funeral home
at Summerfield and will be taken to the residence Sunday.
