Florian A. Timm

The 1910 census entry for Florian Timm contains discrepancies. Twenty-three year old Florian lived with his parents and younger siblings at 504 Seddon Ave. in North Braddock, PA. The census also states that he came to America in 1881. This is probably an error, since other records indicate that he was born in 1886.

Florian Timm was drafted to serve in World War I. He married Ida Smotzer immediately before his induction.

In 1920, Florian and his wife Ida lived with his parents and three siblings at 504 Seddon Ave. in North Braddock. Florian was a machinist in an electric plant.

At the time of the 1930 census, Florian (42) and Ida (42) Timm owned the home at 504 Stokes Ave. in North Braddock. with their sons Bernard (10) and Raymond (7). Florian was a bench hand in a machine shop. Their home was worth $7000, and the family owned a radio set. Also living with them was a 39 year old unmarried lodger, James Smithberger. James may have been the nephew of Ida's sister Cecelia's husband William Smithberger.

Nephew Raymond Ford remebers that Florian "always had a cigar in his mouth."
