Edmund Sebastian Biedenbach

In 1930, Edmund S. Biedenbach (30) and his wife Stella (25), owned a farm in Seneca Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. They lived there with their children "Chiala" (Viola) M. (5), Mary F. (4 yrs 6 mos.), Evelyn R. (2 yrs 7 mos.), Barbara M. (10 mos)., and Edmund's unmarried older brother, Anthony I. (37).


Stella Anna Miller

Obituary:
Stella A. Biedenbach, 87, Malaga, died Saturday
at Monroe County Care Center, Woodsfield. She was born
May 8, 1904, in Boston, Belmont County, a daughter of the
late Edward and Clara Reischman Miller. She was a
member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Burkhart, near
Lewisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Edmund Biedenbach;l two daughters, Clara Schumacher
and Mary Schoeller; one son Norbert Biedenbach; three
brothers and one sister.
Surviving are five sons, Arthur of Canton, Donald
of Woodsfield, Bernard, Roger and Dennis all of Lewisville,
three daughters, Viola Burkhart of Canton, Evelyn Wasilewski
of Providence, RI, Mildred Nau of Caldwell; one brother James
Miller of Chillicothe, five sisters, Hilda Robb, Lucy Reischman,
both of Jerusalem, Ada Atkinson of Quaker City, Viola Lynn and
Frances Weilbacher, both of Columbus; 47 grandchildren, 80
great grandchildren and on great great grandchild.
Friends will be received today 2 to 9 p.m. at Bauer-
Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield. Funeral liturgy with Mass
will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Burkhart, with Msgr. George Adams officiating. Burial
follows in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Lewisville. Vigil services at 7:30
p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Burkhart.


Norbert L. Biedenbach

Norbert Biedenbach never married. He was a resident of Monroe County at the time of his death.


William Albin Schumacher

On Sept 12, 1918, 36 year old self-employed farmer William Albean Schumacher of Woodsfield, Ohio filled out a U.S. military draft registration card. He stated that he was a native-born citizen, born on Nov. 8, 1881. His nearest relative was Mary Eva Schumacher of Woodsfield. William was described as being tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and light hair.

At the time of the 1920 census, William A. (38) and Mary E. (31) Schumacher owned a farm in Center Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with them were children Walter W. (6), Elizabeth M. (5), Herman F. (3 yrs 5 mos), and Caroline M. (9 mos). Only Walter attended school. According to the census, William's father was a native of Germany, and his mother was from Austria. Neighboring farms in the census were those of Everett Taylor and William Bott. Other Schumacher families lived nearby: Leo (29), Sylvester (37) and John (62),

In 1930, William A. Schumacher (48) owned a farm worth $8000 in Center Twp.with his wife Mary E. (41) and their children Elizabeth (15), Herman (13), Caroline (10), Martin (9), Henry (7), Rosemary (5), Madeline (3 yrs 1 mo), and Roman (6 mos). The oldest five children attended school. William was born in Ohio to German-born parents. The family did not own a radio set. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Edward Schumacher (45) and Fred Swisberger (?) (48).


Mary Eva Alig

According to the 1920 census, Mary's father was born in Germany, and her mother was a native of Ohio.

Rosemary Margaret Schumacher

Rosemary Schumacher's obituary appeared in The Intellegencer (Wheeling, WV) newspaper on November 8, 2005
SCHUMACHER, Rosemary M., of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Sunday, November 7, 2005 at her home.
She was born January 25, 1925 in Monroe County, a daughter of the late William A. Schumacher and Mary E. Alig Schumacher.
She was a retired secretary for the Citizens National Bank, Woodsfield, having worked there for 46 years. She was also a life long member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Woodsfield, a member of the Purgatorial Society, a member of the Catholic Women's Club, Secretary and Treasurer for the Brown Community Center and a past member of the Monroe County Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Herman and Father Henry Schumacher S.V.D.; two sisters, Caroline Lowery and Elizabeth Bender.
She is survived by two brothers, Martin (Dorothy) Schumacher, Barnesville, Ohio and Roman Schumacher, Malaga, Ohio; one sister, Magdeline Edwards, Bisbee, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
Friends received from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2005 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
Vigil services 8:45 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Sylvester School, 119 Wayne Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.


Irene Anna Archer

Irene Anna Archer was a member of the Harriettsville high school graduating class of 1940 in Elk Township, Noble County, Ohio.


Donald V. Johnson

CALDWELL - Donald V. Johnson, 42, of 1218 North street,
died at 7 p.m. Friday of an apparent heart attack. Born Oct 29, 1923 at
Newcomerstown, he was a son of William and Ada Davis Johnson and a
member of the St. Mary's Catholic church in Fulda. He was also a member
of the Caldwell Council of the Knoghts of Columbus, a veteran of World
War II and a member of the Caldwell V. F. W.
Surviving are his parents, his wife, Thelma; four children, Thomas,
Becky, Jeff and Tammy all of the home; five brothers, Marion Johnson of
Greenville, Jack, Carl and Robert Johnson, all of Caldwell, and Paul John-
son of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Betty Murphy of Caldwell and several nieces
and nephews.
Friends may call at the Murphy Funeral Home in Caldwell from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church in
Fulda with Rev. Fr. J. J. Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Fulda.

Grace Zwick

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on September 22, 1955: WOODSFIELD -- Open church will be observed Saturday, Oct. 1 for
the wedding of Miss Grace Zwick, daughter of James O. Zwick of Lewisville,
route 1, and Arthur Hupp, of Caldwell Route 4. The Rev. Joseph Finan will officiate at the double ring rites at nine o'clock
in the morning at the St. Joseph's Catholic church at Burkhart. Miss Zwick is
a graduate of Lewisville high school with the class of 1955. Mr. Hupp graduated
from Caldwell high school and is employed with the Crock and Schafer Lumber
company at Olive.
