Beatrice Janet Dennis

Records conflict on year of birth: Snider gives 1920, Social Security Death Index and obituary give 1919. According to Beatrice's granddaughter, Kimberly Slevin Snider, states "The reason for the confusion is her mother died when she was very young, therefore her aunts and uncles raised her. She always thought she was born in 1920. The year my grandpa died she found her birth certificate and found out she was really born in 1919."

Beatrice Dennis' Social Security number issued in Colorado prior to 1951.

CALDWELL — Beatrice Janet Saling, 81, formerly of Dexter City and a resident of East Union, died Saturday (April 28, 2001) at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1919, in Canton, daughter of the late Thomas and Veronica Hill Dennis.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda and its Catholic Women’s Club. She had been an active member of the Dexter City Community Club and was a former head cook at the Dexter City School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Francis D. (Frank) Saling, who died April 21, 1990; an infant brother, Charles Dennis; and two grandchildren.

She leaves five sons, Thomas (Carolyn) of Dexter City, David (Bernie Kay), Steven (Lisa), Ronald (Julia) and Donald (Lisa), all of Caldwell; five daughters, Mrs. David (Veronica) Biedenbach of East Union, Mrs. Michael (Helen) Stover of Dexter City, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Slevin of Fredericksdale, Mrs. Daniel (Denise) Archer and Mrs. James (Theresa) Hupp, both of Caldwell; 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell, where Christian Scripture Services will be 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with the Rev. Fr. Samuel R. Saprano as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.


James Ottis Zwick

According to Monroe Co., OH. Birth Records James middle name is Ottis not "D". His father went by George not Leo H. ZWICK.His mother maiden was spelled HUGHS.


Loretta M. Burkhart

Obituary:
Loretta B. Zwick, 81, of Caldwell route 4, formerly of Lewisville route 1 died
December 13, 1982 at Summit Acres Nursing Home following a long illness. She
was born in Monroe County on May 10, 1901, daughter of the late Nick and Mary
Ann Burkhart. She was owner-operator of Zwick’s Grocery for many years. She
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Burkhart. Her husband, James O.
Zwick, died Sept. 24 1980.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Ted (Mary) Russo and Mrs. Jack (Anna) Greegor
of Canton, Mrs. Ed (Alice) Hupp of Caldwell route 1, and Mrs. Art(Grace) Hupp of
Caldwell route 4; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Joseph-
ine Zwick of Louisville, Mrs. Goldine Hill of Canton, Mrs. Lyle (Pauline) Weisend of
Lewisville route 1, and Mrs. Mary Crum of Louisville. One son, two brothers, and one
sister are deceased.
Friends were received at the Brubach Funeral home, Summerfield where the Rosary
was recited. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday with Fr. Samuel
Saprano at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial is in the church cemetery.
