Selected Families and Individuals

Notes

James William Thornton

Sr. Eugenia Maurer's manuscript describes James W. Thornton as an electrician who owned his own business. She also states that he is a veteran of WW II, U.S. Army Tank Division. Given the date of birth (1945), this seems rather unlikely.

Robert Harold Quesenberry

field mason superintendent

Daniel Dugan

Daniel Dugan was a "jock" who enjoyed baseball. His love of sports was passed on to many of his descendants.

Laura Ann McAuley

Records conflict: Hough (in "The Family of Louis Leo Schweinberg", 1974) states that Laura McCauley is the sister of Daniel F. McCauley, while Maurer (in "The Schweinberg Story", 1982) states that she is his daughter.

Maurer does not supply dates of birth for the McAuleys. If the reader accepts the dates of birth provided by Hough, Laura cannot be the daughter of Daniel, as he was 4 years old when she was born.

It is surmised by this researcher that Sr. Eugenia Maurer used Beatrice Hough's manuscript as a source, but misread the lineage of these two subjects.

John Joseph McAuley

Records conflict: Hough (in "The Family of Louis Leo Schweinberg," 1974) states that john Joseph McCauley is the brother of Daniel F. McCauley, while Maurer (in "The Schweinberg Story", 1982) states that John Joseph McAuley is Daniel's son.

Maurer does not supply dates of birth for the McAuleys. If the reader accepts the dates of birth provided by Hough, John Joseph cannot be the son of Daniel, as Daniel was 7 years old when John Joseph was born.

It is surmised by this researcher that Sr. Eugenia Maurer used Beatrice Hough's manuscript as a source, but misread the lineage of these two subjects.

Also, Hough gives the subject's name as John Joseph; Maurer gives it as Joseph.
