Wesley D. Schaub

In 1910, 31 year old widower Wesley Schaub was a boarder in the hotel of William and Florence Fenton on East Main St. in Louisville, Nimishillen Twp., Stark County, Ohio. There were four other boarders in the hotel, two servants, and the Fenton's infant daughter. No other children lived in the household.

At the time of the 1920 census, Wesley Schaub (40) rented a home in Canton, Ohio where he lived with his wife, Josephine (30) and children Oselma (9), Mildred (8), Murland (6), Donald (4) and Wesley (2). The oldest three children attended school. Welsey Sr. was employed as a teamster.

In 1930, Wesley D. Schaub (51) and his wife Josephine (39) rented a farm on North Chapel (?) Road in Nimishillen Township, Stark County, Ohio. Living with them were children Joseph J. (17), Donald (16), John W. (13), Rita M. (10), Paul L. (9), Kathryn L. (6), Thomas J. (5), and Emma E. (4). Wesley's father and mother were both natives of Ohio.

Obituary from page 1 of the Louisville Herald on 7 Nov 1935:
Wesley Schaub, 57, died at his farm home one mile north of
here last Friday after an illness of two years.
Mr. Schaub leaves his widow, Josephine; six sons, Theodore
Schaub of Canton and Joseph Donald, John, Paul and Thomas at home;
seven daughters, Miss Thelma Schaub and Mrs. A. F. Stanton of Garfield,
Mildred, Mary, Rita, Catherine and Emma at home, and four sisters, Mrs.
Minnie Lorentz of Canton, Mrs. Lizzie Kilmer of Marietta, Mrs. Emma
Bentz and Mrs. C. Schaffer of Louisville.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home. Rev.
A. B. Wilson of the U. B. church officiated. Burial in Union cemetery.


Irene Hoffman

The following wedding announcement appeared in the Louisville Herald on 20 Oct 1904.
MARRIED. SCHAUB -- HOFFMAN On Tuesday evening [18 Oct 1904] at the
home of the officiating minister, Rev. Jacob Weirick, of Osnaburg, Mr. Wesley Schaub
and Miss Irene Hoffman, both of Louisville.
After the ceremony, the couple returned to Louisville and immediately took up their
residence on West Gorgas street, where the groom had the house in readiness. During
the evening, an infare was held and a wedding dinner was served to a nyumbe rof guests.
The young people have the best wishes of their friends.


Theodore Schaub

In 1910, 4 year old Theodore Schaub lived with the family of his uncle and aunt, Ernest and Clara Schafer on East Gorgas Street in Louisville, Nimishillin Twp., Ohio. The Schafers had four children of their own, ranging in age from 10 to 15.


Thelma Schaub

Paul Schaub's 2001 death notice refers to his sister "Velma Stewart" who preceded him in death. Josephine Pillot Schaub's obituary calls her step-0daughter Thelma.

In 1910, Velma S. Schaub (1 yr 7 mos) was an adopted daugher of farmer John Culler (62) in Lake Twp., Stark Co., Ohio. They are the only two people in the household. John is married, but his wife was not enumerated with them.


Margaret

Seven of Margaret Schaub's nine children were still living at the time of the 1900 census. Both of Margaret's parents were born in Germany.
