Florentine Mary Schott

The following article appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal on October 20, 1931 GASOLINE EXPLODES Miss Florentine Schott, daughter of John Schott, narrowly escaped severe burns Saturday when a pan of gasoline in which she was cleaning a cap exploded when placed near a stove.

Also known as Florence. Unmarried and living in Zanesville, Ohio in 1948. She was the third wife of Norris Krofft, the first being Grace Wilson (ref 1930 census) who died 25 Apr 1948 and the second Helen Pearl Sites whom he later divorced.

The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on Aug 13, 1954: THREE COUPLES APPLY FOR MARRIAGE LICENSES Three couples filed application in probate court for marriage licenses. They are: . . . Norris E. Krofft, 59, of 1530 Linden avenue and Florentine Schott, 44, of 961 1/2 Linden avenue.


Harold C. Schott

Obituary:
Harold Schott Dies In Hospital Harold C. Schott, 33, of Ava, died at Bethesda
hospital at 8 o'clock Monday. He was the son of John
and Clara Leasure Schott. Surviving are his widow, Dorothy; two children,
Linda and Imogene of the home; the father; one brother
William Edgar of Sebring; four sisters, Mrs. Wilma Daloney
of Canton, Mrs. Eloise Miller of Elkhart, Indiana; Mrs. Mary
Evelyn Hesson of near Elba and Florentine Schott of Zanes-
ville; the maternal grand-mother, Mrs. Mary Leasure of Mt.
Ephraim. Funeral will be held in the Methodist church in
Ava Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Claire Gray of
Chandlersville will officiate and burial will be in Halley's
Ridge cemetery.


Rosalind Pearl Schott

Rosalind was born at home, and died the same day. Harold Schott's sister-in-law, Clara Leasure Schott, was present at the birth. It was obvious when the baby was born that she would not survive. Even though Dorothy Perkins Schott was not a Catholic, Clara was bound and determined that the infant would be babtized, so Clara baptized Rosalind at the sink immediately after she was born.


Imogene Schott

The following appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on June 13, 1952: CALDWELL -- Miss Imogene Schott daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Schott of Ava has accepted a position at the office of the Ohio Associated Telephone Co in Caldwell. She was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Belle Valley high school.

In the 1953 death notice of Reinhart Schott, all of his daughters are listed by their husband's name (e.g., Mrs. Donald Kindler, Mrs. Richard Merry, etc.). The only exception was Helen, who was "Mrs. Helen McMahan." This suggests that her husband may have been deceased.

Elenora E. Schott

This note was published in the Zanesville Signal on 29 Apr 1933:
UNDERWENT OPERATION:
Miss Eleanor Schoot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pheelix Schott
underwent an operation for appendicitis Thursday morning.

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Zanesville (OH) Signal newspaper on November 6, 1935 Marry in Fulda Early Wednesday; Reside Here Miss Eleanor Schott of this city, formerly of Fulda, became the bride of
Edward Armbrust also of Zanesville at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning in
St. Mary's Catholic church, Fulda, with the pastor, Rev. Father Mattes
officiating. For her marriage, the bride had selected a dress of Copen-
hagen blue with gold trimmings, hat, shoes and gloves of blue and her
corsage was of pink roses. Her sister, Miss Ester Schott, who was her
attendant, was dressed in green with brown trim and brown accessories.
Yellow roses made up her corsage. Following the ceremony, a breakfast was served at the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Schott, Fulda, and the decorations
were of fall flowers. Among those present at the wedding and breakfast
were the bridegroom's father, Jospeh Armbrust, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paul
and two sons, Bernard and Ronald, and Mrs. Margaret Roll all of this city. Later in the morning, Mr. and Mrs Armbrust left for a brief trip and will
later come to this city where they will be at home to friends on Ohio street.
Mr. Armbrust is an employe(sic) of Hazel-Atlas Glass company.


On March 10, 1943 Edward Armbrust filed for divorce from Eleanor Schott Armbrust. The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on March 11, 1943: DIVORCE ACTIONS (Filed Wednesday) . . . Edward G. Armbrust, of Zanesville against Eleanor Arbrust (sic), of Mt.
Vernon. They were married Nov. 4, 1935 in Fulda, Noble county, according
to the petition. Gross neglect and wilful (sic) absence is alleged. Thomas
A. Joseph represents the plaintiff.

In July 1943, Edward G. Armbrust and Eleanor Schott Armbrust were granted a divorce. The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on July 7, 1943: DIVORCES . . . (Granted) . . . Edward G. Armbrust from Eleanor Armbrust gross neglect. Mrs. Armbrust
was restored to her maiden name. Eleanor Scott (sic - Schott). Thomas A.
Joseph represented the plaintiff.


Obituary:
Elenora E. Schwallie, age 87, of Louisville, passed away Saturday March 3, 2001
in Altercare of Louisville Care Center following a recent illness. Elenora was born Jun
29, 1913 in Caldwell and was the daughter of the late Felix and Sophia (Warner) Schott.
She was a former employee of Troy Dry Cleaning and a waitress for Grace’s Pastry
Shop. Elenora was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
Elenora leaves behind two sisters, Esther Gerst of Caldwell and Ethel Schoeppner of
Marietta and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Edmund Schwallie who passed away December 14, 1979; two sisters, Ellen Dudzik and
Elverna Peinovich, and a brother, Elmer Schott.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, March 6 in St. Louis Catholic
Church with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends
called Tuesday morning at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.

Beneficiaries of Elenora Schott Schwallie's will were John Dougherty, Rose Dougherty, and Janet Dougherty. The relationship of the Doughertys to Mrs. Schwallie is not known.
