Obituary:
Gerald Thompson, age 73, of Caldwell died Thursday
evening 3/4/2004 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born November 2, 1930 in Stock Twp., Noble
County, Ohio a son of the late Reed and Elsie P. Mallett Thomp-
son. He was a heavy equipment operator for B & N Coal Company,
Dexter City. After retiring in 1998, he was an avid woodworker and
refurbished tractors and farm equipment. He was a member of the
Caldwell Free Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
wife; the late Carolyn Pitts Tilton Thompson who died in 2003, and
1 sister; Lillian P. Thompson. He is survived by 2 sons; Bruce E. (Sherrie) Thompson of
Cambridge, Ray E. (Diana) Thompson of Cambridge, 2 daughters;
Connie K. (Mitchell) Smithberger of Senecaville, Debbie D. (Mark)
King of Caldwell, 4 step-children; Allen (Tina) Tilton of Caldwell,
Brenda (Skip) Horn of Mooresville, North Carolina, Chris (Rhonda)
Tilton of Westerville, Darlene (Ron) Miziker of Byesville, 10 grand-
children, 3 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-
grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in
Caldwell, Ohio on Sunday from 2-9 pm (family will be present from
2-4 & 7-9pm)where services will be held on Monday at 11am with
Pastor David Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Crum Ridge
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Free
Methodist Church.
