Francis James Michel

At the time of the 1930 census, widower Francis A. Michel(31) lived with his parents, younger sister and maiden aunt at the family home at 1333 Main St., Louisville, Stark Co., Ohio. Francis was a self-employed carpenter.

Obituary:
Francis Michel, prominent building contractor here died
in his home 413 S. Silver St., Tuesday morning after suffering a heart
attack. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Home Builders
Association and Construction Council of Stark County.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen Michel; a daughter,
Miss Rose Mary Michel of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Michel; a brother, Carl, all of Louisville; three sisters, Mrs.
Leroy Frank and Mrs. Raymond Paquelet of Louisville, and Mrs.
Homer Klinger of Canton.
Services will be at St. Louis Catholic Church Friday at 9:30
with burial in the church cemetery. Knights of Columbus will hold
memorial services at 8 o’clock Friday evening.

Beatrice Lair

Wedding announcement (Louisville Heranld)
Miss Beatrice Lair, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lair, of
Alliance and Francis Michel, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Michel
of Louisville were married on Wednesday morning. The ceremony
was performed at St. Joseph’s Catholic church at Alliance, Rev.
K. P. Banks officiating, and the attendants were Miss Helen Lair, a
sister of the bride and Norbert Smith. Shortly after the ceremony Mr.
and Mrs. Michel left for a trip to Detroit, Michigan and upon their return
they will reside in Louisville. Both Mr. and Michel are exemplary
young people with a host of friends extend to them best wishes for a
long, prosperous, happy life.

Helen Agnes Grisez

Obituary
Helen A. Michel, age 92, of Louisville, passed away early
Sunday morning, May 22 in St. Joseph Hospice following a lengthy
illness. She was born April 25, 1902 in Louisville, daughter of the
late Paul and Rose (Rebillot) Grisez. She was a retired postal worker,
a member of St. Louis Church, St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society,
and the Columbus Women’s Club.
Mrs. Michel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law,
Mrs. Michael (Rosemary) Sivy of North Canton; a sister, Catherine
Grisez Woodin of Westwood, NJ; two brothers, Tom of Canton and
Theodore J. of Warren, PA; two grandchildren, and one great-grand-
child.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis A. Michel,
a son, James; two sisters, Margaret Grisez Sluss and Sister Mary Jude
Grisez; and two brothers, John and Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10:00
a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Rev. Father Raymond
Thomas and Rev. Fr. Ronald Klingler as concelebrants. Burial was in the
church cemetery. Friends called Tuesday evening at the Paquelet-Falk
Funeral Home in Louisville.


James Francis Michel

Obituary from the Louisville Herald, page 1, 26 Dec 1940::
James Francis Michel, 4 year old son of Mr. and Mrs.
Francis Michel of Louisville, died Friday morning in Little Flower
hospital from appendicitis.
In addition to the parents, the grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Paul J. Grisez and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Michel of Louisville
survive. Services were held Monday morning in St. Louis Church
with with burial in the church cemetery.
The Herald joins the entire community in extending sincere
sympathy to the grief-stricken parents.

Raymond Lawrence Paquelet

In 1930, Raymond Paquelet (36) owned a home worth $4000 in Nimishillin Twp., Stark Co., Ohio. He lived there with his wife, Frieda (30) and their sons Richard (4 yrs 6 mos) and Paul (2 yrs 10 mos). Raymond was employed as a furniture merchant. He was a veteran of the World War. Like most of their neighbors, the Paquelets owned a radio set.

Wedding announcement, Louisville Herald, pg 1, 18 Oct 1923:

A very pretty wedding ceremony was performed at St. Mary’s Catholic church
at Harrisburg on Wednesday morning by the pastor, Rev. J. Kosinsky. The contracting
parties were Miss Frieda Michel, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Michel, of Harris-
burg, and Mr. Raymond L. Paquelet, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Paquelet, of Louisville.
The attendants were Miss Helen Paquelet and Francis Michel, a sister and a brother of the
bride and groom, respectively and Mary Helen Kropf and Beatrice Frank were the flower
girls.
The bride’s gown was of white satin crepe. She wore a veil and carried a bouquet of
bridal roses. Miss Paquelet was gowned in salmon crepe and carried a bouquet of roses.
After the ceremony, a breakfast was served at the bride’s home, a number of relatives and
friends being guests.
Mrs. Paquelet is a prepossessing, affable young lady. She recently resigned her position
as manager of the Flory store. Her pleasing manner makes her many friends. Mr. Paquelet
is associated with his father in the furniture and undertaking business. He is one of Louisville’s
choice young men. They have gone to Chicago and will also visit other points before
returning to Louisville where they will reside.

Obituary:
Frieda K. Paquelet, age 88, of 303 S. Chapel St., Louisville passed away Saturday,
Feb. 18 [1989], at St. Joseph Hospice following a short illness.
Born in Fulda, Noble County, July 16 1900 to the late Henry and Sophia (Smith) Michel,
she lived in Stark County since 1907. She worked at the Paquelet Furniture Store and
Funeral Home with her husband Raymond and sons Richard, and Paul, for the last 45 years.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society,
Columbus Women’s Club, Louisville American Legion Auxiliary, and was a Past-President
of the Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond, with whom she lived for 65 years; sons
Richard and Paul - both of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her son, Thomas, in 1942, brothers Theodore, Francis and Carl;
two sisters, Mrs. Julietta Frank and Mrs. Esther Klinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Calling hours were on Tuesday in the Paquelet Funeral
Home. American Legion Auxiliary services and St. Ann’s and Columbus Women’s Club
services were also held at the funeral home.

Esther Marie Michel

At the time of the 1930 census, 19 year old Esther M. Michel lived with her parents, widowed brother, and aunt at the family home at 1333 East Main St. in Louisville, Ohio. Esther was employed as a clerical worker for a motor company.

Obituary:
Esther M. Klingler, age 69, of 155 Montrose Ave., NW Canton,
was pronounced dead on arrival [29 Apr 1980] at Aultman Hospital
following a lingering illness.
Born in Harrisburg, Ohio August 17, 1910 to the late Henry
and Sophia Smith Michel, she lived in the Canton area for 35 years
and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Michael’s
Senior Citizens Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer J.
Klingler in 1977. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Daniel
(Corinne) Sanders of Massillon; one son, Rev. Father Ronald M.
Klingler of Youngstown; one brother, Carl Michel of Massillon; one
sister, Mrs. Freida Paquelet of Louisville, three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at 11 AM in St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church with Bishop James Malone concelebrating
the Mass. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon. Friends called
at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Louisville on Thursday.

John Cletus Michel

The following article appeared in the Times Recorder on October 4, 1946 PAUL-MICHEL REHEARSAL DINNER THIS EVENING Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gaab of 417 Wayne avenue will entertain
this evening with a rehearsakl dinner for the wedding party of
Miss Marjorie Paul and John Cletus Michel. Miss Paul and Miss Michel will be married at 8:30 o'clock
tomorrrow morning at St. Nicholas Catholic church. the bride-
elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Paul of North
River road, while Mr. Michel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
ward Michel of Caldwell.

John C. Michel worked in the maintenance department of Good Samaritan hospital in Zanesville (heating, lighting, power, and repairs).

The following caption accompanied a picture of John C. Michel receiving the "Boss of the Year" award that appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) on Nov 1, 1975: ABWA HONORS BOSSES John C. Michel, executive director of environmental services
at Good Samaritan Medical Center, was announced as boss
of the year of Y-Bridge Chapter, American business Women's
Association, at the chapter's boss night dinner Thursday at
Holiday Inn. He is pictured with his secretary, Miss Karen Archer,
who nominated him for the honor. Seventy one ABWA members
and their employers attended the dinner planned as an Hawaiian
luau. The program included a talk by Dr. Dominic Brune, music
by Wayne Barrett, vocalist, and Mrs. Hazel Russi, organist, and
dances by Mrs. Erla Factor, Mrs. Lynda Nethers, Mrs. Bruce
Barclay, Mrs. Ramona roll and Miss Stacey Mitchell.

Regis Edward Michel

Obituary:
ZANESVILLE -- Regis "Mike" E. Michel, 83, of Zanesville,
died at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Genesis Bethesda emer-
gency room after a brief illness.
He was born Friday, Jan. 14, 1921, in Caldwell, the son of
Edward and Kathryn (Crum) Michel. He was a member of St. Nicholas
Catholic Church, owner and manager of Farm Supply Center, Inc. since
1951 and Michel Livestock Farms. Mr. Michel was also a member of the
Zanesville Chamber of Commerce, Ohio Agri Business Association, an
affiliate member of Soil and Water Conservation and a member Muskin-
gum County Cattlemen's Association. He served his country in the U.S.
Army.
Survivors include seven children, Donald (Sandy) Michel, Paul
Michel, Eugene (Polly) Michel and Dennis (Vicki) Michel, all of Zanesville,
Janet (Don) Hawk of Danville, Nancy (Galen) Peck of Hopewell and Karen
(Jim) Obermiller of New Philadelphia; 25 grandchildren, Andrew and Carrie
Michel, Yvette, Russell and Brad Michel, Karen Lawler, Jared, Jessica and
Janelle Michel, Danny, Delbert, Joe Hawk and Shannon Robinson, Patrick,
Brian, Scott, Stephen Michel and Becky Dennis, Stacey, Jason, David and
Erin Peck, Joshua, Jenna and Justine Obermiller; nine great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Sergis Michel of Caldwell and John Cletus Michel of Zanes-
ville; and a friend, Carol.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Leona M. (Yontz) Michel, who died Feb. 15, 1995; one granddaughter,
Jolene Michel; and two brothers, Rupert and Herbert Michel.
Friends may call 3:30 to 5:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday Dec. 3, at the
Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,
Dec. 4, 2004, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Leo L. Connolly as
celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, in Zanesville

Leona M. Yontz

From The Zanesville Times Recorder (pg 3 B) 18 Jul 1941:
Miss Leona Yontz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Yontz, of near Lewisville, became the bride of Regis Michel, of
Fulda, on Saturday, Jul 12. The ceremony was performed at St.
Joseph’s Catholic church at Burkhart, with the pastor, Rev.
Father Schiele, officiating. Mrs. Michel is a graduate of the
Lewisville high school, being a member of the 1940 class. The
young couple will make their home in Youngstown, where Mr.
Michel is employed.
