Henry Ebert

Henry and Emma moved to Wheeling WV in 1877. The family has not been found in the 1880 census index (familysearch.org) in the surrounding states.


Joseph J. Becker

In 1900, Joseph Beeker (29) lived with his widowed mother and younger siblings in a rented house in Wheeling, West Virginia. Joseph was employed as an axle turner.

At the time of the 1910 census, Joseph J. Becker (40) rented a home at 2327 Jacob St. in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. Living with him were his younger siblings Minnie (30), John (28), and Gertrude (24). None of the siblings were married. Joseph was employed as a janitor in a dry goods store.

In 1920, Joseph J. Becker (49) owned a mortgaged home on Locust Avenue in Triadelphia, Ohio County, West Virginia. Living with him were his wife, Mary L. (43) and children Valentine (5) and Marian L. (3 yrs 8 mos). Joseph was employed as a salesman for a tea company. Joseph's sister, Gertrude Becker Scott, lived a few doors away.

In 1930, Joseph J. Becker (59) and his wife Mary L. (52) rented a home for $95 a month at 8 Locust Ave. in Triadelphia. Living with them were their children Valentine (15) and Lucille (14), both of whom attended school. Joseph worked as a salesman for a retail grocery.

According to the 1930 census, Mary came to America in 1900. She was a naturalized citizen.

Anthony Becker

In 1900, 25 year old Anthony Beeker lived with his widowed mother and siblings in Wheeling, WV. His occupation is "Presser Pottery."

At the time of the 1910 census, Anthony Becker (34) and his wife Mary E. (26) rented a home at 202 Jefferson St. in Mannington, Marion County, West Virginia. Anthony worked as a presser in a pottery factory.

In 1920, Anthony and Mary E. Becker owned a mortgaged home at 2232 Norwood Avenue in Richland, Ohio County, West Virginia. Living with them was their daughter, Rosella M. (5) and Mary's widowed father George W. Braund (71). George, whose last name is not clear in the census, was a native of Germany. Anthony Becker still worked as a pottery presser.

In 1930, Anthony (54) and Mary E. (47) Becker owned a multi-family home worth $15000 at 2230 Norwood (?) in Wheeling, WV. Living with them was their daughter Rosella (15), who attended school. Anthony was employed as a salesman for a tea company. Portions of the home were rented out to two unrelated families.

According to the Social Security Death Index, Anthony's last residence was North Carolina. His Social Security number was issued in West Virginia prior to 1951.


Mary E. Braund

Mary's parents were born in Germany. According to the 1910 census, she had not given birth to any children. In the 1920 census, Mary's father, George W. lived with the Becker family. His last name is difficult to read. In the index, it's Braund. However, on the actual census, the initial letter could be either a B or a K.


Ambrose Becker

In 1900, Ambrose Beeker (23) lived with his widowed mother and siblings in a rented house in Wheeling, WV. Ambrose worked as a barber.

In 1910, Ambrose Becker (33) and his wife Anna R. (31) rented part of a home at 2356 Wood Avenue in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virgnia. Living with them were their childen Margaret (6), Gertrude (4), and John Otto (3). Only Margaret attended school. Ambrose was the proprietor of a barber shop. The home's owner, who also lived there with his family, was fellow Fulda native Ferdinand Fisher.

The family of Ambrose Becker has not been found in the 1920 or 1930 census.


Anna R.

According to the 1910 census, Anna's parents were natives of Germany. She had given birth to three children, all of whom were still living in 1910.


Grace Margaret Arnold

of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Staller of Denison, Iowa. The
wedding was an event of October 16 in St. Nicholas
Catholic church.

Grace Arnold Staller's obituary appeared in The East Valley Tribune (Phoenix, AZ) newspaper on June 22, 2007 Grace Margaret Staller, 79, of Gilbert passed away June 19,
2007 in Gilbert. Grace was a member of the Gilbert Senior Center
and a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Gilbert.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Staller; sons, David
(Gayle) Staller, Joe (Valerie) Staller, Mark (Linda) Staller, and
John (Jacqueline) Staller; daughters, Janet Staller and Rose
(Mark) Urbach; brother, William (Donetta) Arnold; sisters, Mary
(David) Nutter and Ruth (John) Donahue; 11 grandchildren
and 6 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, with a rosary at 7 PM,
Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W.
Juniper Ave., Gilbert, AZ. Services will be held at 10 AM,
Monday, June 25 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 440 E. Elliot
Rd., Gilbert, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Banner Hospice, 1325 N. Fiesta Blvd., Ste. 1, Gilbert, AZ 85233,
or to the Gilbert Senior Center, 100 N. Oak, Gilbert, AZ 85234.
