Harry J. Miller

In 1930, 36 year old Harry J. Miller lived with his wife Nellie (32) in a house they owned (value $10,000) at 1534 Westmoreland Street, Pittsburgh (12th Ward-Lincoln Lemington), Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Based on census data, they had been married for about 10 years. Harry worked as a clerk for a wholesale druggist. Both Harry and Nellie were born in Pennsylvania, Harry's parents in Ohio, Nellie's father in England and her mother in Pennsylvania.

On April 27, 1942, 49 year old Harry John Miller of 1534 Westmoreland St. Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania registered for the military draft. According to his draft registration card, he was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1892. His draft card lists Mrs. Harry Miller of wht Westmoreland St. address as the person who would always know his address. He was employed by the George A. Kelly Co., 102 Ninth St., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His physical description is given as height: 5'6"; weight: 132#, eyes: blue; hair: brown; complexion: sallow.

From The Crock Family History by Maria Pegnato: Harry Miller was Vice President of Kelly Drug Company. He was a very gentle man, very bright and quiet. In World War I, he rode horses in the infantry. Gradually it became clear that he had a way with the horses, and could treat them medically. He was eventually assigned those duties and became known as "Doc" despite the absence of any medical degree.

Harry was very lonesome after the death of his first wife, Nellie. He often went to the home of his sister, Coletta Miller Vacco, for Sunday dinner. Evenutally, he married Connie Kennedy. They bought a house in Blackridge near Coletta's.

MILLER CONSTANCE KENNEDY w/o Harry J. Miller On Saturday, March 31, 2001, age 90, of Cranbury at home. Born in West Orange, she resided in Pgh., PA most of her life before moving to East Windsor 10 years ago. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Hightstown, the Blackridge Civic Association in Pgh., PA, a member of St. John Fischer RC Church in Forest Hills, PA and Pittsburgh Hospital Auxiliary. She was formerly employed for 25 years with the Joseph Horne Company in Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter of the late Katherine (Coslow) and George F. Callahan; wife of the late Patrick W. Kennedy, Sr. and Harry J. Miller; she is survived by her daughter Kathy Kennedy Gaines of Cranbury; one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick W. Kennedy, Jr. and Martha L. Kennedy of East Windsor; one sister, Sally Haller of Phoenix, AZ; for grandchildren, Bryan Kennedy of Fredericksburg, VA, Andrew Kennedy and Kate Utter both ofEast Windsor, and Jan Pavelec of Cranbury; two great-grandchildren, Larsen and Alden Kennedy of East Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at 10 am at the A. S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 No. Main St., Cranbury. A funeral mass will follow at 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown.Interment Friday, April 6, 2001 at Calvary Cemetery, Pgh., PA. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Miller's memory to Alzheimer's Assoc. Juanita N. King

Obituary Mc-Vay Perkins Funeral Home:
Juanita Nadine Nichols, age 85, of Sharon, died
Sunday, June 5, 2005, at her residence. She was born
October 9, 1919, in Arapaho, Oklahoma, daughter of
the late Alonza M. and Lydia Roe King. She retired in
1984 as the head deputy of the Noble County Clerk of
Courts office, and was a member of the former Olive
Green United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern
Star, and Gideons International. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death
by her husband, Clarence R. Nichols, who died in 1992;
one daughter, Evelyn Jean Archer, who died in 2003;
one grandson, Bryan Rayner, who died in 1974; and
two brothers, Don King and Doug King. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Nancy)
Secrest of Caldwell, Mrs. Duane (Judy) Weisand of
Summerfield, and Mrs. Dave (Rama) Reese of Green-
town; two brothers, Eldon (Betty) Wilson and Charles
(Wanda) King, all of Oregon; three sisters, Evelyn Reed
and Mary Carolyn Moon, both of Oklahoma, and Regina
Bridgman of Caldwell; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grand-
children; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, June 7, 2005, from 4-8PM
at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the
funeral service will be Wednesday, June 8, at 11AM
with Pastor Helen Lewis and Father Samuel Saprano
