Lucy G. Weisend

In 1900, 15 year old Laura G. Weisent lived with her mother, step-father, and a variety of half-siblings and step-siblings on the family farm in Summit Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio. She attended school for seven months during the previous year.


Fred Schehl

In 1900, Fred Schell (40) owned a mortgaged farm in Summit Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with him were his wife of 15 years, Mary A. (36) and their two daughters Anna C. (12) and Hannah E. (9). Both girls attended school. Everyone in the home was a native of Ohio. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to the families of Jacob J. Burkhart (27) and Charles Biedenbach (43).

At the time of the 1910 census, the Schehl family owned a farm on Willis Creek Road in Summit Twp. Members of the household were Fritz Schehl (49), his wife Mary A. (47) and their children Anna C. (22), Johanna N. (19), Leo P. (8) and Frederick E. (2). The adjacent farms in the census belonged to single men: Edward Burkhart and Adam Schehl (Fritz's brother).

In 1920, "Fritz" Schehl (59) and his wife Mary A. (57) owned a farm in Summit Twp. where they lived with their children Anna C. (32), Leo P. (17) and Fredrick E. (12). Adjacent farms in the census were those of Edward Burkhart and Henry A. Schell. The relationship between Fritz and Henry is not known.

The family still lived in Summit Twp. at the time of the 1930 census. The household consisted of Fred Schell (69), his wife Mary (67), son Leo (26) and Fred's unmarried brother Adam (86). Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Mary's first cousin, Joseph Kuhn and Roy Claus.

According to the 1910 census, Mary had given birth to four children, all of whom were still living. The reason for the unusual 12 year gap between the birth of Johanna and Leo is unknown.

VISITS COUSINS
Leo Schehl, who is employed at the Mosaic Tile company,
Zanesville, was the guest Wednesday night of his cousins,
Misses Leona and Tharcilla Kuhn, enroute to Kuhn to visit
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schehl.


According to the Social Security Death Index, Leo Schehl's Social security number was issued in Ohio prior to 1951.

Jay E. Lehmiller

In January 1920, 30 year old widower Jay Lehmiller lived in a house that he owned in the North Industry Precinct of Canton, Stark County, Ohio. His wife, Carrie, had died less than a year earlier. With him lived his three children, John J. (7), Mary Jane (5), and Louise K. (4 yrs 2 mos). Only John attended school. Jay was employed as a manager of a general store. Jay and his mother were born in Ohio; his father was born in Indiana.

Also living in the Lemiller home in 1920 were Jay's 60 year old widowed father, Jacob, and John's three unmarried siblings: Ruth (36), Hazel (33), and Karl (18).

In 1930, Jay Lehmiller owned a house worth $4500 on Main Street in the North Industry section of Canton, Ohio. With him lived his wife Anna M. (33), and three children from their previous marriages: Mary Jane Lehmiller (16), Edward J. Lung (14) and Mary E. Lung (12). All three children attended school. Also living in the household was Anna's widowed father, John H. Fisher. (70). Jay worked as the manager of a hardware store.
