Ann Stefanick

OBituary:
Anna Surmay, (The Vegetable Lady), age 87, of Canton, died August 18, 2000, at Alter Care of Navarre after a short illness. Born in Austria, daughter of the late Anton and Mary Stefanick, she lived in this area most of her life. Anna had a vegetable route in Canton for 72 years and was a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church in Navarre, St. Clement's Women's Society, the Slovenian Lodge and the Barto Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel and Johnny Surmay and her brother, Tony Stefanick. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Paul Surmay, Jr.; three sons, Paul E. Surmay of Kentucky, Stanley G. (Marsha) Surmay of Canton, Ronald J. (Judy) of Louisville; four daughters, Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Dawson of Alabama, Mrs. Joe (Virginia) Prinzo of Georgia, Mrs. Glen (Mildred) Smail of Navarre, Susan J. McCleary of Georgia; two brothers, Angelo (Josephine) Stefanick of Florida, John (Donna Jean) Beletic of Cleveland; three sisters, Mrs. Francis (Virginia) Haren of Louisville, Mrs. Bob (Mildred) Pero of East Canton, Mrs. John (Mary) St. John of Canton; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement's Church in Navarre, Fr. Robert Gibas officiating. Burial in St. Clement's Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Paquelet Funeral Home in Navarre. Memorials may be made to St. Clement's Church.
