In June 1880, Casper Kress (38) still lived in Enoch Twp. with his wife Elizabeth (34) and seven children, According to church records (Snider) there were only six children in the famiy at the time of the 1880 census. Ms Snider lists a "John Charles Kress" born 7 Apr 1876. The census lists a "John Kress, 5" and a "Charles Kress, 4." Charles, however, is not listed in chronological order with his siblings. He's listed last, after his younger brother Joseph. The children in the household are Anthony (10), William (8), Joseph (7), John (5), Mary Froniga (2), Edward (8 mos), and Charles (4). Only Anthony and William attended school. Everyone in the household was born in Ohio. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Valentine Hill and Casper's parents, Anthony and Eva Kress.

According to church records cited by Dolores Snider, Casper moved his family to Braddock, PA around 1885. He seems to have come back, though, since children born after that date were baptized in St. Mary's, and he and his wife are buried in St. Mary's cemetery.

By 1900, widower Casper Kress (58 - Nov 1841) was back in Pennsylvania. He lived with his sons George (16 - Sept 1883) and Ambrose (13 - Apr 1887) on a rented farm at 14 Wolf Ave., North Braddock, Allegheny co., Ohio. Ambrose attended school. All members of the household were born in Ohio. George's parents were born in Germany.

His son, Hal, was enumerated next door in the census.

Phoebe Ellen Grey

Phoebe was raised by Fred Fox & Sybilla Singer Fox. Her mother was Katherine or Ruth Grey. According to the 1880 census, both of Phoebe's parents were born in Ohio. Since Sybilla Singer and Fred Fox were born in Germany, this probably refers to her biological parents.

In 1870, 13 year old Phoebe Gray is listed as a "domestic servant" in the household of Fred and Sybilla Fox in Jefferson Twp., Noble County, Ohio. Phoebe attended school that year, but she could not read or write.

In 1900, six of Phoebe's seven children were still living. By 1910, Phoebe had given birth to eight children, six of whom were still living.

Ferdinand Bosold

Dr. Singer states that Ferdinand Bosold died in West Virginia (he did not know the date of death). Ms. Snider states that Ferdinand Bosold died 24 Dec 1898 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery.

On 19 Nov 1885, Ferdinand Bosold was listed on the "Sick List" in the Caldwell OH newspaper.

A note in the Caldwell OH newspaper dated 12 Jan 1888 stated:
Mrs. Bosold is visiting her son who is very ill at Wheeling W.Va.
The son is believed to be Ferdinand.

Apparently, Ferdinand recovered enough to travel, since another note appeared in the Caldwell paper a few weeks later on 26 Jul 1888:
Mr. E. Hohman and Ferdinand Bosold of Wheeling were visiting
here over Sunday.
It is possible that E. Hohman is Ferdinand's uncle Enos Hohman. Enos Hohman moved from Fulda to Washington County, Ohio in 1868.

The 1890-91 Wheeling City Directory lists a Fred. Bosold, tanner, at 2413 Eoff, Wheeling WV. Nearby at 2409 Eoff lived retired William Bosold (from 1888 to 1893), and Lizzie Bosold, a boarder (1888 only).

Rosa Christina Fox

A note in the Caldwell, OH paper dated 12 Jul 1888 stated:
Mrs. Rose Bosold, wife of Ferdinand Bosold of Wheeling W.Va is visiting her
parents and relations in this vicinity.

And on 26 Jul 1888 it was reported that
Mrs. Ferdinand Bosold and Mr. John Hohman returned to their home in Wheeling
Monday, after a few weeks visit here.

On 7 Jan 1897, the paper noted:
Mrs. Fred Fox was called to Wheeling recently on account of the serious illness
of her daughter, Mrs. F. Bosold.

The Bosold family has not been found in a search of the genealogy.com index for the 1900 census for Ohio and West Virginia.
