William Joseph Miller

William J. Miller was a farmer and carpenter who lived in Woodsfield, Ohio. The family moved to Kansas in 1922.

In 1930, 65 year old farmer William J. Miller lived on a farm that he owned in Gaeland, Gove Co., Kansas with his wife Lena M. (55) and children (20), Barbara (18), and George A. (17). None of the children attended school; everyone in the household could read and write. None of the children were employed outsidde the home. According to the census, William and Lena were 43 and 33, respectively, when they first married. Everyone in the household was a native of Ohio except William, who was born in West Virginia. William's father and mother wree from West Virginia and Ohio, repsectively; his wife's parents were German.

William moved back to Ohio after his wife's death in 1932.

Helen Matilda Hine

According to the 1930 census, Lena's parents were born in Germany. Lena died at St. Angelus Mission in Sheridan Co., KS.


George Bott

George Bott was a merchant and butcher in a grocery store. In 1930, 48 year old George Bott lived in Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio with his wife Agnes C. (63). George and Agnes were 29 and 33 years old, respectively, when they were first married. George's property was valued at $3000. His parents were German immigrants.

According to his death certificate, cerebral apoplexy was the direct cause of George Bott's death. Contributing factors were chronic interstitial nephritis and chronic myocarditis. Death certificate informant was Bernard Bott of Woodsfield (presumably George's son).


Elizabeth A, Bott

Elizabeth Bott joined the Franciscan order when she was 16 and survived until she was in her 80s. Her novitiate name was Sister Angeline. Elizabeth got her masters in music from Notre Dame in the mid 1950s. She lived in Charleston, West Virginia.

In 1930, 28 year old Elizabeth Bott is listed as an "inmate" at St. Aloysius Academy on Tiles Plant Rd. in Pike Twp., Perry Co., Ohio. Her occupation is a music teacher at the academy.


William Bott

In 1920, 50 year old farmer William Bott lived in the North Precinct of Center Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with his wife Elizabeth (51). According to the census, William's father was from Saxony, and his mother was from Hesse.


Cyrus Wiley Gallaher Sr.

Occupation: Farmer and Carpenter. Lived with Louisa near Coates Station, Ohio until her death.

In 1930, 53 year old Cyrus W. Gallaher lived on a farm that he owned in Adams Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with his wife Louisa M. (50) and children John F. (26), James L. (18), Cyrus W. (12), and Herman (10). James, Cyrus Jr., and Herman attended school. According to the census, Cyrus Sr.'s parents were born in the "United States."

Cyrus Gallaher had been a patient at White's Rest Home in Beallsville for two months prior to his death.


Joseph Henry Wahl

In 1930, 42 year old carpenter Joseph H. Wahl lived in a mortgaged home at 432 Julian Ave. Akron, Ohio with his wife Josephine (47) and children Josephine (16), Eloise (14), Angela (12), and Francis (7). All the children attended school. Joseph's father and mother were born in Ohio and Germany, respectively.

Occupation: Carpenter and Millman. Lived in Woodsfield, Ohio 19 yrs. Later moved to Akron, Ohio, where he worked for Horning Lumber Co., as a mill man. He later moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.


Goldena Wahl

Birth date reflects that given in Weisend history compiled by Mrs. Blanche Weisend. Goldena Wahl joined the Franciscan Order prior to 1920 and became Sister M. Leonette.


John Edward Miller

In 1920, 43 year old carpenter John E. Miller lived in a mortgaged house on Coles Road in Lemon Twp., Butler Co., Ohio with his wife Melissa (41) and children Gertrude (19), Mary (17), John (15), Charles (13), Margaret (11), Leo (9), Ada (6), Joseph (4 yrs, 8 mos), Ruth (2 yrs 1 mo.), and Howard (8 mos). John Jr., Charles, Margaret and Leo attended school. Children from Mary to Leo were born in Pennsylvania. The older and younger children were born in Ohio.

Melissa J. Phillips

After husbands death, she resided in Bradenton, Florida. According to the 1920 census, Melissa's parents were born in Ohio.
