Leo R. Burkhart

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Burkhart and daughters, Martha Jane and Leonette, were
recent guests of Mrs. Burkhart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, Martins
Ferry.

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Leo R. Burkhart, 87, of Ohio Avenue, Woodsfield, died Friday, at the Woods-
field Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Joseph and Jane Daugherty
Burkhart. A member of St. Sylvester's Catholic Church of Woodsfield, he was a
retired civil engineer, and a veteran of WW I. Preceding him in death was his wife,
Marie Miller Burkhart, in 1982,
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Griffith (Leonette) Knopp, LaCombe, LA
and Mrs. Fred (Jane) Peters of Berlyn, PA, and five grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, 2 to
9 p.m. today. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St.
Sylvester's Catholic Church, Woodsfield. Burial will follow in the Church Ceme-
tery, Woodsfield. Rosary devotions will be said today at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral
home.


Marie Josephine Miller

Occupation: school teacher.

Burkhart, Marie J. , 80, of Woodsfield, died Saturday, in Woodsfield Care
Center. She was a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Woodsfield.
Surviving are her husband, Leo Burkhart; two daughters, Mrs. Griffith Knoop
of LaCombe, LA and Mrs. Fred Peters of Berwn, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Rod Engel-
meier of Salem, Ohio, and Mrs. John Nail of St. Clairsville; two brothers, Paul
Miller of St. Clairsville and George Miller, Jr. of Annandale, VA; five granchildren.
Friends will be received at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, 2 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Sylvester
Catholic Church. Interment in St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery. Rosary devo-
tions will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
