NEVA MARIE HENRICKS Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel Neva Marie Henricks, age70, of Burbank Heights, Pasco, Washington, passed away Wednesday,September 30, 1998 at Lourdes Medical Center with her family by herside.
Neva was born May 4, 1928 in Weiser, Idaho. She was the daughter of Nina Mae and Wayne Lewis. She attanded schools in Ontario and Baker, Oregon. Neva graduated from the Dalles High School in 1946 with high honors. Neva was employed by the Wasco County District Attorney's Office and was also secretary to the Oregon State representative. In 1946, while working for the District Attorney, she met Deputy Sheriff Joseph T.Henricks whom she married in May 8, 1949. After their marriage, they made their first home in Portland, Oregon, while Joe was attending college. In 1952, they moved to Burbank Heights to homestead and established one ofthe original farms in Block 2.
While raising their eight children, who love her dearly, she also worked beside her husband on their farm. Neva also found time to serve seven years on the Burbank School Board. Neva went to work for Boise Cascade, Wallula, in 1966 as maintenance secretary and progressed to executive assistant in engineering and technical services. She thoroughly enjoyed her work ans mill friends for 31 yearsprior to retirement in 1997.
She enjoyed knitting, needlework, and snowskiing and some quiet time in the raspberry patch picking berries to share with others.
She is survived by her husband, Joe with whom she recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She is also survived by her two sons and six daughters: Tim and Laurette Henricks of Maine;Joseph M. Henricks, Kennewick; Kathy and Darrel Bruce, Pasco; Mary Annand Tim Greenwait, Kennewick; Kay and Ernie Langevin, Richland; Jan andPete Campbell, Pasco; Cindy Henricks, Seattle; Terri Henricks, Pasco.Neva found great enjoyment in her 14 grandchildren who will miss their beloved Grandma.
Neva's family was never-endingly blessed with herencouragement and wisdom. Neva touched many lives and her memory willlive in our hearts forever. We love you, Mom.
Rosary will be recited atBruce Lee Memorial Chapel in Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 1998.Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Pasco at 10:00 a.m.on October 5, 1998. There will be no graveside services. In lieu offlowers, memorial contributions amy be made to the American HeartAssociation, Washington Affiliate, 4414 Woodland Park Avenue N., Seattle, Washington 98103, St, Vincent DePaul of Pasco, 1120 West Sylvester, Pasco, Washington 99301 or a charity of your choice.
