Andrew John Cornett

In 1930, Julitta Cornett and her brother Andrew lived with their first cousin once removed, Francis J. Crum and his wife at 522 Luck Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio. Julitta and Frank both worked as laborers in a glass factory.

Andrew Cornett's obituary appeared on page 2 B of The Zanesville Times Recorder on 29 Jan 1970:
Andrew J. Cornett, 66, of Norwich Route 1, a farmer,
was dead on arrival at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday (Jan 28) at Good
Samaritan Hospital from an apparent heart attack suffered
earlier at his home. He was born Jun 29, 1903, in Noble County,
a son of Louis and
Mary Ann Warner Cornett. Mr. Cornett was a member of
St. Thomas Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. His wife,
Agnes, Mary Cornett died last Nov. 27.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Mar-
garet) Smeltzer of Newark and Mrs. James (Rita L.) Hifer of 1104
Pine Street; a son, Donald A. Cornett of Route 5; two brothers,
Harry Cornett of Route 2 and Urban Cornett of Gallipolis; three
sisters, Mrs. Julitta Radcliffe of Adamsville, Mrs. Clarence Noll of
Caldwell, and Mrs. Florence Leddy of Ninth Street; and five grand-
children.
Friends may call at Hillis Funeral Home after 7 p.m.
today.

Agnes Mary Heil

Agnes Heil Cornett's obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 28 Nov 1969:

Mrs. Agnes Mary Cornett, 63, of Norwich Route 1 died
at 10:45 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital where she had been
a patient since Nov. 19. She was born Sept 4, 1906 at Fulda,
Noble County, a daughter of Henry and Margaret Gerst Heil.
She had lived most of her life time in this area. Mrs. Cornett
was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and its Rosary
Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Cornett,
whom she married Sept. 30, 1931; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph
(Mary Margaret) Smeltzer of Newark, and Mrs. James (Rita
L.) Hofer of 1104 Pine Street [Zanesville], a son, Donald A.
Cornettt of Route 5l a sister, Mrs. Louise Crowley of 119 Sum-
mit Drive; three brothers, William Heil of Route 6, Otto Heil of
119 Summit Drive, and Ephraim Heil of Adamsville Route 1;
and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hillis Funeral Home 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.


Urban Alexander Cornett

In the 1910 census, 4 year old Urban Cornett is listed under the name Andrew J. Cornett.

In 1930, 24 year old, unmarried, Urban A. Cornett lived as a roomer in what appears to be a boarding house at 237 Second Ave., Gallipolis, Gallia Co., Ohio. Urban worked as an "auto parts merchant." Urban was born in Ohio as were his parents.

According to the Ohio online death certificate index, Urban Cornett was a widower at the time of his death.


Marie Rosa Bosold

The father of Minnie Rosa Bosold is not known. Her mother's husband, Fred Kress, was referred to as Minnie's stepfather.

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Times Signal (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on October 17, 1930: Bosold - Cornett A pretty wedding was solemnized Oct. 6 at Gallipolis when Miss
Marie Bosold, charming granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bosold,
near Harrietsville, became the bride of Urban Cornett, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Cornett, near Fulda. The bride wore white satin trimmed
with rhinestones, with tulla veil and orange blossoms. She carried
bride's roses. The attendants were Miss Florence Cornett and Andrew
Cornett, sister and brother of the groom. The same evening a wedding dinner and dance was held at the
groom's parents. The happy couple reside at Gallipolis where they
are receiving best wishes of their many friends.

Marie Cornett is listed as a deceased sibling in the 2006 obituary of her step-brother, George Kress. The 1984 online death certificate entry for her husband, Urban, indicates that he was a widower at the time of his death.


Julitta R. Cornett

In 1930, Julitta Cornett and her brother Andrew lived with their first cousin once removed, Francis J. Crum and his wife at 522 Luck Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio. Julitta and Frank both worked as laborers in a glass factory.

On 17 Oct 1957, the Zanesville Signal (newspaper) recorded the following real estate transaction:
Gloria J. and Delbert P. Radcliffe to Julitta R. and Paul O. Radcliffe, 112 acres in Salem township.


Clarence Joseph Noll

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Noll, Betty, Ruth, Dorothy, Helen, Louis and Larry of Caldwell attended the Alex Noll family reunion on 24 Jul 1960 at the home of Carl and Laura (Noll) Polk in Zanesville. See notes of John Alexander Noll for a list of attendees.

Obituary:
CALDWELL - Clarence J. Noll, 78, of Caldwell Route 4,
died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 [1985] at his home. Mr.
Noll was retired from the State Highway Department and was a
member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Fulda. He was born Aug.
2, 1906, in Noble County, a son of Alex and Eva Mary Zwick Noll.
Surviving are his wife, Freda Cornett Noll; seven daughters,
Marie Schilling and Ruth Fox of Beverly, Sister Mary Louray of
Chardon, Thelma Binegar of Marietta, Betty Nau of Caldwell, Helen
Koch of Lowell and Dorothy Schaad of Waterford; two sons, Louis
Noll of Caldwell and Larry Noll of Summerfield; 37 grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Noll of Zanesville,
and six sisters, Laura Polk of Zanesville, Veronica Burkhart of Lewis-
ville, and Edna Dimmerling, Freda Crock, Clara Crock, and Pearl
Estadt, all of Caldwell.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and
Friday at the Caldwell chapel of Estadt-Cawley and Peoples Funeral
Home, where rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Mass of
Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's
Catholic Church at Fulda with Msgr. Frank J. Baudo and Father Dale
Torness (sic) officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.


Freda Philomena Cornett

In the wedding announcement that appeared in the Zanesville Signal on 18 Aug 1933, the bride’s first name, the groom’s first name, the priest’s name and the name of the church were all incorrect.
MARRIAGE OF MISS CORNETT
The marriage of Miss Fredia (sic) Cornett, charming daughter
of Lewis Cornett near Fulda to Charles (sic) Noll of Harrietsville
was solemnized at St. Philomena (sic) church at Fulda Wednes-
day morning by Father Matess (sic). A wedding dinner was
served at the bride’s home. The couple will reside with the
bride’s father.

Freda celebrated her 90th birthday at a party with family and friends on Sunday, Feb 24, 2003.

obituary:
Freda P. (Cornett) Noll, age 90, of 43907 TR 265,
Caldwell, died unexpectedly on August 22, 2003, at the home
of her daughter, and caregiver, Betty C. Nau, where she had
resided almost 10 years.
Freda was born February 10, 1913 in Enoch Twp., the
sixth of eight children of Louis and Mary Ann Warner Cornett.
She was the last living relative of the family. Her baby daughter,
Mary Louise, one grandson, James Schilling, and her husband,
Clarence J. Noll, who died March 19, 1985, also preceded her
in death. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anni-
versary on August 16th.
After the death of her husband, Freda worked as a
senior citizen companion. She was a member of St. Mary of
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Fulda and a
member of the Catholic Women's Club where she donated
numerous quilts. She was very strong in her Catholic faith
and prayed the rosary every day. In addition she enjoyed
reading and playing cards.
She is survived by her children: Marie (Louis)
Schilling of Beverly; Thelma (Charlie) Binegar of Marietta;
Sister M. Louray of Chardon; Ruth (Claude) Fox of Beverly;
Betty (Herman) Nau of Caldwell, Helen (Ron) Knoch of
Lowell, Dorothy (Dave) Schaad of Waterford, Louis Noll
of Caldwell, and Larry Noll of Summerfield. She was the
proud and loving grandmother of 37 grandchildren, 48
great-grandchildren, two step-great-grand- children, and
one great-great grandson. Each and every one will miss
her.
Friends were received Sunday at McVay-Perkins
Funeral Home, Caldwell, where Christian Wake Services
were held at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was held
Monday, August 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Im-
maculate Conception Church, Fulda, with Fr. Samuel
Saprano as celebrant. Burial was at St. Mary's Parish
Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to a charity of one's choice.

Hazel Laura Noll

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Noll, of Harriettsville announce the birth of a daughter
named Hazel Laura. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Noll and Louise Cornett are the grandparents.

Hazel Noll entered the convent as Sister M. Louray.


Francis Henry Cornett

The Zanesville Times Recorder (newspaper) published the obituary of Francis Cornett on August 7, 1969

FRANCIS CORNETT DIES; AUTO SERVICE HEAD Francis H. Cornett, 53, of Newton Township (Route 2),
service manager at Dutro Ford, died unexpectedly at 7:45
a.m. Wednesday (Aug 6) at his home following an apparent
heart attack. He had been ill the past year. Born August 11, 1915, in Noble county, a son of Louis
and Mary Ann Warner Cornett, he had lived in Zanesville
the past 35 years.. Mr. Cornett was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Helen; three daughters, Mrs.
Esther Miller of Shippensburg, Pa., Sister Frances OSF of
Honolulu, Hawaii, and Theresa Cornett of the home; two
sons, David of Newark and Henry of the home; three sisters,
Mrs Julitta Radcliffe of Adamsville, Mrs. Florence Leddy of 15
Ninth street and Mrs. Clarence Noll of Caldwell; three brothers,
Harry of Route 2, Andrew of Norwich, and Urban of Gallipolis;
and three grandchildren. Friends may call at Hillis Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. today
and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Edward Leonard Crock

At the time of the 1900 census, farmer 32 year old Edward Crock lived on a farm that he owned in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio with his 30 year old wife, Anna and four children: Gertrude (6), Lizzie (4), Roman (2), and Albert (10 months). None of the children were old enough to attend school.

In 1910, 42 year old Edward Crock lived in Noble County Ohio with his 40 year old wife Annie and their nine children.

In 1920, 51 year old farmer Edward Crock lived with his wife Anna (50) on a farm they owned in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio. Living with them were their children Roman J(22), Albert J. (20), Rosa M. (18), Ernest J. (16), Andrew F. (14), Clarence T. (13), Sebastine E. (11), Linus U. (9), and Alma A. (5). Andrew, Clarence, Sebastine and Linus attended school; Roman worked as a oil field pumper and Albert and Ernest worked as farm laborers. All members of the household were born in Ohio as were Edward's parents and Anna's mother. Anna's father was born in Germany.

By the time of the 1930 census, widower Edward Crock (62) had moved to a farm in Olive Township in Noble County. He lived with his two youngest children, Linus (18) and Alma (16). Only Alma attended school. Edward's son Albert lived next door.

Edward Crock’s obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 13 Jan 1931:
EDWARD CROCK, OF NOBLE COUNTY, IS CALLED FROM LIFE
Father of Zanesville Resident Dies in Hospital Monday
Edward Crock, 62, a well known farmer of South Olive, Noble county died at 11 o’clock Monday night in Good Samaritan hospital, after a short illness. He was admitted to the hospital Saturday in a critical condition and failed to rally to treatment.
Mr. Crock was a native of Harriettsville, Noble county. He was a member of the Catholic church at Caldwell and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Gertrude Zwick of Burkhart, Mrs. Elizabeth Rohrig, Fulda; Roman and Albert Crock of South Olive; Ernest Crock of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; Mrs. Rosa Cornet of Herron’s Ridge, Noble county; Andrew Crock of Fulda; Sebastian Crock of Zanesville; Misses Lena and Alma Crock of the home. Six brothers and one sister also survive.


Anna Barbara Nau

According to the census, four of Anna Nau Crock's five children were living in 1900. The child who did not survive was Anna and Edward's first child, Henry, who died a few days after his birth in 1893.

The following note appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 18 Apr 1929:
UNDERGOES OPERATION
CALDWELL -- Mrs. Edward Crock, well known resident
of near South Olive, was removed to the Good Samaritan
hospital, Zanesville, Tuesday in the C. A. Dye company's
ambulance, for an operation for appendicitis. The operation
was successful and the patient is expected to recover.

Her obituary was published in the same paper three days later (22 Apr 1929)
MRS. EDWARD CROCK, OF SOUTH OLIVE, IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Mrs. Anna Crock, 59, wife of Edward Crock of South Olive,
near Summerfield, died at 2 o’clock Sunday morning in Good
Samaritan hospital after an illness following an operation. She
was admitted to the hospital April 16 in a serious condition.
The body was removed to the People’s undertaking parlors
and was taken to the late home Sunday evening. Funeral
arrangements were not learned last night.

Clarence T. Crock

Sources conflict on date of death. D. Snider (citing church records) gives 1 Mar 1926 as date of death. The obituary that appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder does not give the date of death, but suggests that it occurred on the Monday preceding publication, which would have been 8 Mar 1926.

Funeral services for Clarence Crock, 18, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Crack (sic), of near Dexter City, whose death
occurred Monday, was held from the Fulda Catholic church
Wednesday, conducted by Rev. J. B. Oeink, and internment
was made in the Fulda cemetery.


Delbert Alexander Cornett

The following article appeared in the Zanesville Times recorder on December 5, 1949: FOUR ARE INJURED IN TWO CRASHES Warren F. Huey, 31, White cottage, suffered hand
lacerations Saturday when his car and a truck driven
by Warren Fluharty, 25, route six collided east of White
Cottage. Fluharty was arrested by the Ohio patrol for
unsafe operation. Mrs. Hugh Dalrymple, Roseville, Delbert Cornett, 18,
route 2 and his brother, Norman, 15, suffered minor in-
juries when Cornett's car and by Mr. Dalrymple collided
in south Zanesville, the patrol reported.

The following article appeared in the Zanesville Signal newspaper on July 7, 1958: WEDDING OF LOCAL INTEREST Miss Miriam McFrederick daughter of Mrs. Laura
McFrederick of Beallsville, route 2, was married to
Delbert A. Cornett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cornett
of Zanesville, route 2, in a ceremony read on Saturday,
June 21 at 9:15 o'clock in St. Benedict's Catholic church,
Cambridge. The Rev. Fr. Trettel officiated at the double
ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Reed
McFrederick of Beallsville. She wore a ballerina length
gown of nylon chiffon over net with a satin bow at the
waistline. The bodice was of lace with net and satin
folded gracefully across the shoulders. The bride worn a small white hat of lace and sequins
and wore a strand of pearls with matching earrings. Red
roses formed her corsage. Miss Gertrude Crum of Summerfield was maid of honor.
She wore a ballerina length gown of blue and white striped
silk organza with a wide satin cummerbund. Her corsage
was of yellow roses. Edward Cornett was his brother's best man. A reception was held at the Zanesville, route 2, home
where the newlyweds will reside. Mrs. Cornett is employed
by the Radio Corporation of America at Cambridge. Mr. Cornett
is employed by Dutro Motors in this city.

Judith K. Thompson

The following wedding announcement for Judith K. Thompson and Edward R. Cornett appeared in The Times recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on June 12, 1960:
Miss Judith K. Thompson Is Married To Edward R. Cornett On Saturday
Miss Judith K. Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Thompson of 727 Seborn avenue, and Edward R. Cornett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cornett of Route 2, exchanged marriage vows Saturday [June 11] in St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Palms and candelabra decorated the nuptial setting. The Rev. Fr. Linus Dury officiated at the 11:30 a.m. double ring ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza over taffeta and net. The sleeves, neckline, and skirt were trimmed with Chantilly lace, seed pearls and sequins. A small crown of seed pearls and sequins held in place the fingertip veil. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of pink and white roses surrounded by lily-of-the-valley.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Ralph Israel, was attired in a dress of blue chiffon over taffeta, designed with a chiffon cummerbund, square neckline and cap sleeves. Her accessories were also blue and she carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations and roses.
Donald Cornett served as best man for his brother.
Following the wedding a breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents where the reception was held during the afternoon. Assisting were Miss Mary Cloe Swift, Mrs. Kenneth Thompson, Jr., sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. William Daum and Miss Susan McFadden.
For her going-away ensemble the former Miss Thompson selected a blue sheath dress which she wore with black accessories and a pink rose corsage.
The new Mrs. Cornett graduated from Zanesville High School and is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She is employed by Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, Inc.
A graduate of Rosecrans High School, Mr. Cornett is employed by the Firestone Stores. He is a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Following a week's wedding trip in Florida, the couple will live at 235 1/2 Luck avenue.
