Fred W. Yontz

Fred Yontz served in World War I from May 28, 1918 until his honorable discharge on Dec 6, 1918.

CALDWELL - Fred W. Yontz, 71, of Caldwell, an automobile
salesman, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 30) at his farm
from an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 11, 1896, in West Virginia, a son of John
and Johanna Naurer Yontz. He had been a resident of Noble
County most of his life.
He was a salesman for Caldwell Motor Company, a member
of St. Stephens Catholic Church at Caldwell, Father Kleuber
Council Knights of Columbus and Noble Post 252 American
Legion.
He is survived by his widow, the former Etta Brister; two sons,
Joseph and Harry Yontz of Caldwell; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy
Fowler of Caldwell; seven grandchildren a brother, Frank Yontz
of Byesville. A daughter, Barbara Jean, is deceased.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday
at St. Stephens Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. S. J. Pekella and
Rev. Fr. William Yontz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet
Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at McVay Funeral Home here at 8 p.m.
Saturday by Father Kleuber Council of K. of C. Members of the
parish will recite the Roasry at 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call
at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and
after 3 p.m. Sunday.
