Notes

Prussia Colie

Alternate given name: "Pausba." (per Tony Colie)

Abigail Colie

Abagail's 4th great-granddaughter, Timmy Kate Sorrow, writes:
My great grandfather has added that Abigail Colie Smith "died at age 62
from pnuemonia from exposure while directing hand on the farm about
gathering hay in from threatening storm, caught severe cold." She was
devoted to her cows!

She also writes:
I have a bunch of letters about the death of Abbie Colie Smith. She had
three sons, Samuel Colie Smith, Oliver Reeve Smith and Isaac Parcell
Smith. Samuel and IPS were very close and wrote perfectly horrible things
to each other about Oliver. They regarded him as a vulture perched on the
bed of his dying mother--ready to cart off everything he could carry.

Abbie Colie Smith was apparently an angel of a lady. They just adored her.
People came from everywhere when she was sick (dying)...Isaac Purcell
Smith's cousins from PA, all the NJ and NY family. She must have been
pretty cool. There is more written about her death than anyone in the family.
